New Year's Thank You to >35 members (newbies, please read)
I just wanted to be a little mushy for a moment.
When I got disgusted with myself on Labor Day, I vowed to change my habits. I came back to the forum after a 11 month abscence and started posting again. Since then I have lost 25 lbs, gained a lot of strength, and in general, started feeling really good about myself for a change. I am actually wearing 36 pants now, and not slinging them low.
I am not telling you all that to blow my own horn, just to let you know where I am coming from when I say that a lot of my success is due to the members of this forum who have helped encourage me, held me accountable, and answered a lot of my stupid questions. Believe me, being accountable, even to total strangers, has been a great weapon in my arsenal, and I look forward to a whole calendar year of it. Just imagining where I will be a year from now blows my mind, seeing how far I have come in just 1/3 of a year so far.
All you newbies, please start a journal, ask lots of questions, and become part of the family. It works!

Great post Mike, you are right. It does work! I have only been logging and journaling for a little over a month, but I have made more progress in that month than I have in several years before.
So, yes newbies please join us! We'll help each other out while we progress together.

Cool, Mike! That warm fuzzy feeling doesn't wear off, either. Good advice for the newbies. Great bunch of peeps here.

The best thing that I ever did while re-habbing was to start my journal on this board! Advice and motivation abound!
