Things you do before a meet

What kind of rituals do you perform before a competition? Pray to Krom for strength, etc?

Also, do you take anything before hand? Ephedra, etc. I was thinking of taking 2 caffeine pills and a monster. I really need to qualify.

I just approach it as another training day. Nothing special. Just like in training, I visualize the lift in my head, hit the nose tork then I do it.

Ephedra? Isn't that what people were dropping dead from in the recent years?

I just try to relax....work on focusing on my lifts....and catch up with friends I haven't seen since the last meet. I also just treat it like another day of training.

joke around and not think about the weight. I always crack up before a heavy lift. As soon as i lay down on a bench, i lift the bar and do it without thnking about it. Just because if i think about it too much, i get nervous and choke.

actually, right before I hit a lift, I try not to stare at, look at or even think about the weight, or the amount of plates on the bar. I focus all of my energy on the bar and visualize my form. But, I've been in meets, where I've seen guys, bash their forehead against the bar right before their squat, of course, you always see someone hit themselves in the head with their hands or their fist (psyching themselves up)....and I acually saw one guy warming up with karate kicks one time (it seemed like he spent an hour doing some type of roundhouse kick before the meet started). I asked him about it after the meet...he said it helped him take his mind off of his lifts.
