Any serious pool players in here?
I've played pool crappily in bars for years like most people, but a while ago I got into proper pool playing with comps/ranking and learnt to play with correct stance/rules/strategy etc. I tend to play a few night per week ranging from 1 hour sessions up to 8 hours straight being my highest so far. I think it's an awesome sport, really good feeling when you pull off a difficult shot or run a table, picked myself up a new cue just yesterday...
Eventually I'd like to be ranked #1 in my city but I'd say that's a fair way off yet...
So any other players in here?

pool is such a rewarding game, its unbelievable.
my standard is good, but not amazing, rarely would i clean up in say 2/3 shots, but im thinking im gona try and improve this year.

i say, at this moment, it goes 1. lois (just about) 2. chloe and then 3. lana but last season it was def 1.chloe 2. lois and 3. lana with of course lana dominating the early seasons.

Theres about 4 or 5 pool halls where I am so yeah I tend to play quite a bit and most of my friends play as well. Sometimes I'll even go by myself and shoot around for a little bit if I ever get really bored.

I use to play a lot. The more you play the better you get is all I can say. It's all about the feel and that can be only learned by playing a **** load. This makes me want to go play a game or two. At some point I also wanted to buy a table.

used to play for ****s a few years ago...got semi serious this year. i go maybe 4 times a week and play for a good 2-3 hours.
billards is an amazing game.
what do you guys prefer, 8ball, 9ball or snooker?

Not serious, but I have played alot. From 9 ball, UK pool to US pool. I've recently started playing snooker more though.

i got addicted to it a few semesters ago. I bought a 250$ cue and aced once and then left the game since (a year).

yeah i used to be pretty pro a few years ago, but i tend to get overly into things....then one day stopped. I could go through a rack of 9ball w/o a miss. Yeah,i prefer 9ball. i might play just for fun now that you mention it tho.

I used to play a lot....you could say I was serious.
It seems like pool isn't very poplar anymore. You see it less and less in bars....only in the dive bars.
On the plus side....I've played so much that after not playing for a few months at a time....I can still just pick up a stick and play great.
