My fav ab exercises are stability ball crunches (easier on my back)
Reverse crunches on a decline bench, jackknives, decline crunches, hanging leg raises and there is one I usually do at the end of my ab exercises. I'm not sure what it is called, but I use a cable pully machine and hold out my arm in front of me with a single hand attachment about chest height and just twist my upper body. It works my obliques really well.

For the most part I agree, but you get exceptions, like check out #4. Is it just me or are her elbows touching the ground? That would totally remove the whole point of adding dumbbells to a crunch. Why doesn't the pic match the suggestion of the writing and use them overhead to increase the difficulty?
Plus there is Christian's 'reverse squat' travesty which very few have actually recognized the idiocy of for some reason: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...=reverse+squat

1. cable crunches and hanging leg raises helped my abs a ton when i was recentley cutting. I was on a type of circut training style ab routine including 4-6 movements and i wasnt getting great results. I switched to leg raises/cable crunch/decline weighted with twist and saw much better results. Some of this was obviousley because i was cutting and bf levels were coming down.
2. For the guys asking cardio questions everyone is different and alot depends on what your current bf levels are and how long you have to cut obviousley. For me a weeks worth of cardio was looking like 2-5 mile jogs slow pace about 40-45min total, 2-HIIT days 30 min each i would do outdoor sprinting and jog intervals, and one day of whatever i felt like doing. Keep in mind i am a runner and probably didnt need to run this much but after two months of strict diet/cardio/lifting routine i went from a lean 175lbs to a ripped as all hell 166lbs. Then went on vacation and ruined it lol.

I have to give mad props to all that suggested the cable crunches. I never tried them until I read this thread yesterday and lastnight threw them into my AB workout and blasted my abs.

I love ALL the weighted ab machines. I incorporate my ABS in 3 out 5 workouts. Usually I go hardcore after my main lifts. My personal favorite would be the standing ab crunch as well as the seated abs.
I usually do 6 sets of 12 with a break after the 3rd set.

Do you get good results from doing them so much? I want to work them more frequently but don't want to overtrain...

You WILL NOT overtrain your abs. You can do them everyday if you want, but I like to think like all muscles they need 24-48 hours of rest

I actually prefer stability ball cable crunches. Its basically a reverse cable crunch and I end up feeling it a lot more when I up the weight, while on regular cables as the weight goes up its hard to keep myself on the ground :P
Basically you roll the ball up to the cable machine, and with the cables set to the lowest level use whatever attachment is more comfortable for you, pull them to around your shoulders/chest and begin doing stability ball crunches. Another good variation to the standard cable crunch is doing them on the lat pulldown machine.
