Fast 40 times in here.
This summer I ran a 4.68 laser with the football team. In HS I could never run faster than 4.61 laser.

Here is a fair way to judge your forty.
1) If your hand timed by anyone who is not involved or was involved in collegiate athletics...add .3 to your time. (That's being optomistic)
2) If you run it with some type of timer other that stop watch...(laser,mat, etc.) add about .1
3) If you run the forty at Velocity Sports Performace, subtract about .4 from your 40 and don't get discouraged.
4) And if you are younger than 18, add .7 to your forty while on the internet at least.
Thank you for your time.

my honest time is a 4.52. i had speculated it was around that, but i just ran a couple 40s over the weekend and that was my fastest.
i'm not just BSing like some of these kids, i was a state finalist in the 200m last year. a bunch of my track results are on the internet, but i dont feel like putting my identity just out there on the internet for anybody. and i dont have to prove anything to anybody anyways.
but i am willing to help anybody gain speed.. i used to be excruciatingly slow in 9th and 10th grade, i ran like a 6.2 in 9th and a 5.6 in 10th.

No, I average 4.80 on the machine I run the 40 on. 4.73 was the fastest, 4.86 was the slowest in a 3 month span.

thats a machine unless your talking about laser timer but only true ways to time it is by running with coaches timing or laser time machines prolly wont have most accurate results.

i realized that i was running completely wrong and had horrible form, so i worked on my technique. that dropped me from a 5.4 to a 4.7 right away, and after a couple weeks of practicing it that it got me to a high 4.5. thats what did it mostly.
i also ran a lot of sprints at track practice, we did 100s, 200s, 300s, 400s, and occasionally even 500s. and i worked on my acceleration every day. so that took me from high 4.5s to low 4.5s, where i'm at now. and i'm about to start a different workout and lifting more, so that should take me even lower.
maybe i'll post an update when i'm running a 4.4

Do you have any tips on improving my form? I'm also looking to decrease my time but I think I'm not running with perfect form. Back on topic, I run a 5.2.
