Congrats;-)
Just reading the post and thought to tell you that I had my second child at 26 and the day I left the hospital I was back at my regular weight of 135, I weighed 154 before having my son. Just don't give into the saying that I'm eating for two, we all no we have to eat, but monitoring and balancing it goes a long way, also I walked my dog every morning and evening that was about the extent of my workouts but it walked an hour at least both times. Good Luck to you and your family:-)

Hang in there! Sounds like you are doing great! I have a 14 month old girl and I worked out and taught my cardio classes until the day before I gave birth. I had an awesome delivery and was up and around with out pain pills the same day! I attribute this to my good physical shape. Don't worry about the "soft" feel to your body, the bloating, etc. You are at the, (in my experience) most difficult phase, but once you look preg. and not just bloated it is a lot more fun. When I was 4-5 months I would feel somewhat "skinny" in the morning, but by the evening I looked huge. My pants would not fit in the evenings.
Don't worry about the weight gain. I felt the same way. Every one else told me that they lost weight there 1st trimester, and I gained 7 lbs! The 1st 14 weeks I was SOOOOOOO hungry all the time I could have chewed off my own arm. I kept eating, and eating, and eating; meanwhile the scale kept creeping up, and I didn't even look pregnant! In the end though, I only gained 22 lbs by month 8 and lost 4 lbs by the time I delivered. I was so miserable by the end I wished that I was hungry. I have a very short torso so the baby was squishing my stomach up into my throat causing me to feel full and stuffed all the time. After about 6 months, my stomach never growled again and I got heart burn when I had anything... even water! (Found out from my doc. that it is actually possible to get heartburn from water, who knew!) After I delivered, I felt great and did not get any stretch marks. My baby girl, Ashlyn, was 7lbs 5 oz. I got back into my clothes around 2 weeks (although I had lost muscle, so I did not look quite the same in them) After I started lifting again, I got back into shape in no time!
So don't let people get you down with neg. stories about how fat, stretched out they got, or how horrible their delivery was. Just believe that everything is going to be fine and use other healthy women who had awesome experiences as role models for you! And trust me, even if you gain more weight than you would have liked it will come off!! Just get back into the gym and what that doesn't fix, taking care of the baby will help you burn the rest off!
good luck!

LOL. I found that to be an extremely tough time. I started sticking my tummy out to make it more obvious!
Glad you're doing well.

Wow your story makes me feel 10X better That's great that you only gained 22lbs and the weight came right off. I hope it's the same for me. did you show around 4-5months? I'm still working out (not as intense though) so I hope I can still workout up until the end!

Well, first off...CONGRATS on your pregnancy!!! I just had a little girl 3 mos ago, and she is the biggest joy in my life. My pregnancy was fairly easy, no real cravings, other than cheese in the beginning, sweet peas and corn throughout, and sweets at the end (I occasionally gave in to the sweets craving, definitely in moderation, but I felt better knowing that I could have some cheats and I would still be in control). I was SO scared to put on weight, but I ended up gaining a healthy 22 lbs. My biggest piece of advice to you would be to listen to your body. If you are craving something, a vegetable, red meat etc...eat it. Your body knows what it needs to make a baby! Drink LOTS of water! Take your multi EVERY day! I didn't lift hardly at all throughout (I was slightly anemic, and really did have too much extra energy) but I did walk quite a bit, sometimes up to 15 miles per week. I felt like walking really helped me in the long run. I started back slowly working out 2 weeks after I gave birth to my 6 lbs 5 oz daughter... and now, 3 mos later, I'm 5 lbs less than I was before I got pregnant! I'm currently training for my first figure competition in March. You definitely can do it, just make sure you are making healthy choices right now, while you're pregnant! I wish you lots of happiness and good luck with all of your goals!

Didn't get to post yesterday because I went to the hospital to see my sister-in-law give birth!! It was such an amazing experience....so glad I got to witness it!
Needless to say, I'm a bit tired today...was at the hospital for 6hours!!! Didnt' eat so great either: bagel, pizza, granola bar, french toast, salad and cookies! oops!
I saw my friend who is 1 month ahead of me and I look the same as her....maybe slightly bigger That scares me!

don't let it scare you that you appear bigger - everyone shows differently at different times depending on genetics and of course the size of the baby...don't worry about it you are fine.
Isn't it amazing to whitness a birth - it is so cool...
Good job on your workouts - keep it up! Take care.

CONGRATS on the baby boy!!! I love the name Tristan too!
You are doing great, no worries. How far along are you now? Atleast you have the mindset of keeping healthy and active and being aware of what you are eating during pregnancy. Congrats again!

You are doing great! YOur menus look balanced and healthy. Thats what is most important. Its not like you are out there gorging on McDonalds and Baskin Robbins everyday-- I have a feeling you are going to bounce back very quickly after your baby is born and be one hot mama!
Keep it up girl! Have you checked out babycenter.com ? Its a wonderful website, and their message boards are really hlepful!
Have you thought of names yet?

Well, it's Monday again...boo! Weekends go by so fast!
workout- legs (leg press, skater lunges, seated curls, calf raises), 20min eliptical
meals-
m1: during workout- whey, milk, banana
m2: oats, milk, cranberries, coffee
m3: homemade protein muffin, yogurt w/ almonds
m4: large salad w/ 1 pizza bagel
m5: turkey burger, veggies
m6: tea, fiber one bar
*I'm kind of annoyed...went food shopping yesterday and got my yogurt except when I got home it was vanilla! I usually get low fat plain! I like the vanilla but it has all that sugar in it! That sucks...oh well
*still feeling the baby kick every once in awhile...wish it was more

I don't know how many weeks you are now, but I worked out until I was 9 months pregnant, maybe 2 weeks before due date. I mainly did light cardio (not anything to induce labor). Walking, light jogging on treadmill and using the exercise bikes helped alot. If you have any problems with restless leg syndrome try that, you gotta keep your legs moving especially while pregnant. Good luck.

Hey congratulations on your pregnancy. And I honestly wouldnt worry as much about your weight gain if you are eating clean and healthy. I would eat what your body needs right now. Alot of weight gain in pregnancy is baby, placenta and lots and lots of fluid. Your blood volume increases when you are pregnant, not to mention amniotic fluid (and unfortunately sometimes alot of bloat ). You imagine a baby weighs another 6-9 lbs and then there is the placenta that weighs quite a bit as well. Remember also your biggest weight gains will come in the last trimester when your baby is growing substantially. Stay healthy, eat well and you and your baby will be fine . Take care.
