Pretty much sums up my opinion on drug testing in sports.

Interesting article. And it's a touchy subject with a lot of people because of the propaganda against performance enhancing drugs.
The athletes use them now, so I'm pretty much all for them being allowed to. It's just a joke that they "test" athletes. People blow my mind when they talk badly about people who use steroids, but their favorite athletes are jacked NFL players.

All of my friends are hardcore MMA fans who think that fighters cut 40lbs to make weight and are completely natural. They all love the NFL as well and talk about how awesome their genetics must be to be that strong and fast naturally. I cant even have that conversation with them.

I'm with Thad - I loved Bigger, Faster, Stronger. I kind of just feel that they should just permit it... we all want to see guys who are bigger, faster and stronger anyway . Plus it will get rid of the discrepancy of those who use and get caught versus those who don't.

Linky?
Yeah, he is a badass for sure. That was awesome.
One of the guys I "know" from my time spent in the poker community's wife makes an appearance in Power Unlimited. It is a pretty cool movie. He's also a bada$$ highland games competitor, Thad might know the name (Craig Smith?)New log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=144101461

I think I'm gonna watch it again this month. Trying to get my new workout partner to watch it. He's 265 and has the powerlifter build.....errr well he's just fat but I think he'd do well if he got into the sport.

Public ignorance to the issue provides power to the legislators to gather "support" to press these issues with my money that could be used elsewhere (but NOT for national healthcare, but that is another conversation).
I watch that every few months. Very well done and the congressman who is clueless illustrates the point precisely that government has no business in sticking their nose here. If you are gonna, at least have a f*cking clue.
Let them live in their reality that allows them to justify not training for a goal. It has been my easiest path taken so far.
Uh-huh. For more reasons than one.
He continues with, ...."so I won't even try anymore and settle for mediocrity."
Fair is fair. I mean, it should be pretty easy to see that the guy in high school who can grow a beard at 15-16 years old is going to be a little bit more developed when he gets to college. It isn't until the NFL where you could catch up. By then, all bets should be off.
Yup.
The squat and bench I could care less about because technology advances in equipment will help there. Deadlift, not so much, but maybe. I am pretty sure that shoes will not get your 100m to low/sub 9's....that would be awesome to see.
I would love to see that. Sprinters are very impressive athletes. Talk about no room for error.
I think the 1200 to depth is possible. I mean, 1,000 raw is coming fast.
Too many shakes for my liking. I think he is pimping his blends a bit, but still, that is a lot of shakes. I would rather see the food intake upped. Shakes are fine when trying to gain weight (like your case), but lean mass is different.
Concur. Chad Wesley Smith's 900 raw was awesome too. He sank that f*cker.
No....I need to though.
Thad knows him from a brief experiment after college.
Get him into the sport. If you get a couple of your guys to compete, that will light a fire in the basement's training intensity.
I don't think I could even load the bar.
Sad it is going that way. It is getting worse and worse.
****Holy multi-quote.
Feeling a lot better today. Still not 100%, but training will happen.Strongman Training Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=138026593

Seated Log Lockouts
120 x 6
140 x 6
160 x 6
180 x 5
190 x 3
120 x 13
*Damn these take a lot out of you.
Band Pressdowns
3 sets of 25
Pretty short session yesterday, but it was not as easy as it looks on paper. CG Bench felt really good. I am going to chase a max single next week (I think). The log lockouts are pretty tough. Core, shoulders and triceps were all spent afterwards. Very happy with this training. A guy who posts on here every so often came out to train with one of his buddies. Decent session for all.

Squat/Deadlift
Squat
335 (~70%) x 2 (5 sets)
*Felt aweful. I am feeling the lack of squatting since June. Gonna need to loosen up and shake off the cobwebs here.
16" Block Pulls
445 x 3
470 x 3
500 x 3
350 x 12
*Felt pretty good here. I didn't have time to make actual blocks, but I was able to rig something up for the day. I didn't have the most confidence in it, but it worked. The top set was pretty smooth. Probably had more in me, but 500 x 3 was the goal for the day (one I thought to be ambitious), so I cut it there given the sickness and all. I will have a max double attempt in 4 weeks or so, in which I will aim for 540-550. Gotta get the deadlift up!
Pull-Ups
*Orange Band Assisted
3 sets to failure (lost count, but probably in the 50 total rep range)
Ab Wheel
3 sets of 8
Band Crunches
*Orange Band
3 sets of 25
Pretty happy with today overall. Squatting needs some work. My hips need to loosen up a bit. I know exactly how to do it, it will just be dedicating the time to mobility work and what not. Just a result of not squatting enough recently. Gotta shake off the cobwebs. Pulls were awesome. Left on a high note and feel pretty good about it. Like I said, could have went higher with a different approach to the top set, but after not training for a week and still not feeling 100%, I wanted to play it a bit safe. Abs hurt pretty good today....
