Cannot Flex Left Pec

Hello everyone. I have already posed this question to a couple trainers where I workout, but haven't made any progress. I also googled it, with the same results.

About a week ago while doing seated barbell shoulder presses, I noticed and felt the left side struggeling to get the weight up. It was very evident in the mirror in front of me, as the bar was very uneven. I didn't really think much of it at the time and pushed throught the rest of my shoulder routine.

A couple days later while doing flat dumbell presses for chest, I experienced the same thing. I sat up, flexed the right side of my chest, felt good pump and felt hard to the touch. Then I flexed the left side, that is when I got really wigged out. I couldn't really flex it, and even though I was trying with all my might to flex it, it was very soft to the touch. I did not at the time, nor do I now, have any pain in that whole area either. I have NEVER experienced this before.

One of the trainers at my gym had me try some muscle activation exercises, which did nothing. Another suggested that I might have pinched a nerve some how, I am at a loss.

This is also having an impact on my tricep routine, but hasn't seemed to impact back or biceps.

Has anyone ever experienced this before on this or any other muscle? Thanks so much for any help and best of luck to everyone on reaching your lifting goals.

Matt

I would go to a doctor immediately. I just sat through a lecture on Amyotropic Lateral Sclerosis, it made me all paranoid about nerve damage. Even if it ends up not being anything severe, better safe than sorry imo. And if the doctor says it's nothing, try a chiropractor ^_^.

Best wishes, and keep us updated
