It makes little difference until you are strong enough to do signigicant weight on your curls, where seated allows for more isolation and less assistance from torso swing than in the standing mode.
Of course we're talking about DB curls, because BB curls done standing give greater range of movement and makes the comparison more complicated.

Standing DB curls are a good exercise and they also work your core. Seated allows more isolation but takes out your core. I do both.

Seated DB curl are more like a strict curls,it isolate ur biceps, where standing DB curl is not strict and u have a chance that would cheat in ur curl.

Standing curls allow you to use a little more weight, due to you being able to "cheat", to help out with those last couple of reps.

i would incorporate both into your routine, standing is great to really chuck on the extra load.. you get abit of swing but your form doesnt have to be 100% spot on to stimulate muscle growth, look at skip laccour from ast sports

I agree standing is much better if you want to work your core. I always do mine standing and I much prefer that way than seated. Now at the gym you will see many people when they do it standing they use their torso way to much when they start using heavy weight.

Dont think of it as either or, do both
I usually will go heavier on standing curls, and for seated I usually do them on a incline with lighter weight

Seated bicep curls. From a hammer-grip position, you can supinate your hand (another function of the biceps). There is no bilateral strength deficit occuring if you alternate arms. The seated position will make the movement stricter, as well.
