i feel like a tool wearing a sleavless T shirt to the gym most of the time. I'll feel better about it when I'm a monster.

Y-back tanks look homo.(no homo) Stick to normal sleeveless shirts. The very thought of some ogre sweating on the bench with this sweaty back makes me hurl. This is why I carry a towel for my body and a towel for my face. I never leave my sweat anywhere.

I say they're alright! I've seen a few guys at my gym wearing those and if I were a guy workin' hard in the gym...screw the 'looking appropriate' feeling... I wanna be comfy.
I myself lift heavy and etc etc, and honestly...90% of the time when I workout, I look like a total dyke because I've got these huge worn-looking sweats that are like two or more sizes too big, and then a ripped up bodybuilding.com tshirt on...haha... they sent me one and I cut the sleeves off, cut a V in the neck, and cut about a foot off the bottom of it....hahahah. But it's totally comfortable now, and people give me wierd looks in the gym ANYWAYS because I lift heavier than most women in there I guess...
just wear what u want, I think it's totally appropriate to wear those. I would if I were a dude. Besides its not like they look BAD anyhow. Maybe if you're getting looks, they're GOOD looks if u know what I mean hahahahaha!
Take care,
Jodi

I appreciate the shoulder comment! I had shoulder surgery a year ago by some sports medicine doctors that got me rehabilitated quick. Ever since, I have focused on every aspect of the shoulder to make sure it wasn't lagging. It has made a huge difference and now that you mention it, I do have some shoulders!

I would say no. The last thing I want to see when working out is a mans' nipple peaking out the side of one.
There is a guy that is really tall, and really skinny in my gym (older guy) who wears one religiously. He normally wears really short shorts and tall socks with it. Sometimes cannot tell he is wearing shorts, because the "Y" tank covers them.
He looks very funny to me.

LOL....almost all of my sports bras are racer-back, or Y-back, depending on who you're talking to.
As for tanks in the gym, I don't see anything wrong with them. It sure beats the hell out of the guys in jeans, workboots and flannel shirts.

Nothing wrong with the Y-back, I think I'd skip the zubas and scrunchie socks though!!
