Why do Jews receive so much anti-semitism?

The way I see it is persecution is a result of our sins. Whenever we depart from Torah and behave against G-d, G-d sends our enemies against us. This is a great lesson because it teaches us that even though we are His Chosen Nation, G-d is not a respecter of persons and His will comes first, not that of the Jews. It is the King of the Universe, Blessed be He, who makes the rules.

It's an interesting take. Some of my Jewish friends say even the Holocaust was in a sense the fault of the Jews, that they in effect brought it on themselves because they turned away from the Torah and from observing the mitzvot and shabbos. I think that's an extreme view, personally, but I can see their point relative to a way of life that would probably work if everyone (meaning Jew and non-Jew) would simply put their egos aside and follow it.

But that brings me back to the point I was making before: the gentiles don't want to follow it the correct way. In which case, just don't follow it, no one's forcing you. But instead they choose to *distort* it and then follow a distorted version, because their egos are so huge and aggressive that they think they know what it is better than the Jews. Then what happens when Jews actually follow it the correct way it's interpreted and intended? The gentiles who are following the distorted version they have made up see that, and it's a constant reminder that they have distorted it, which they don't want to be reminded of. They want to continue thinking they are "right" and doing it right. So the natural thing that arises then is hatred and the impulse or desire to wipe out (if they won't convert) that which is proving their own distorted doctrine wrong, which they don't want to admit.

That's just my take on it, at least, from a relatively outsider position (meaning I'm neither Jewish nor do I identify with most of the gentile things that are problematic in the ways I described, e.g., xianity, islam, etc. ) After all, it's not been the buddhists or the indians or even maybe the chinese who have persecuted the Jews. It's been who? The xians and the muslims, including the more "secularized" xians such as the nazis and various times in russian history, etc. So I think you have to admit that that seems highly coincidental, that it's mostly the the xians and the muzzies who have done the overwhelming majority of the oppression and persecution throughout history.

But again, those are just my personal views gathered mainly from observing as an outsider. I'm actually very interested to hear yours, thanks for your other comments, too.

A quarter of my family is Jewish. It is just my opinion. I do not believe religion is the true reason of fighting among humans, it's money and power. We all want it, some are better at attaining it. This isn't a judgement about people or equality, but a recognition that certain cultures are better and worse at things.

I disagree with banning hate speech (laws in Germany). However, this does not some how make this speech ok.

Again, there is no reason to lay the blame on Gentiles solely. The Bible shows us that anytime the Jews were persecuted, it's because we turned from G-d.

Well I can understand where Christians are coming from. Judaism is a very anti-Christian religion in the same way the Christianity is a very anti-Jewish religion. Our religions are mutually exclusive, so its understandable why we would dislike each other. Have you met members of the Chabad-Lubavitch? They have strong hatred for Christians.

Well, like I said, the differences in religion and slavery.

Even if blacks weren't Christian they certainly were not Jewish before they came to the Americas. And many Sephardic Jews owned black slaves as well. I can see why blacks would have hostility towards Jews.

Jews have not had their hands clean throughout history, and that is why G-d brings punishment upon us. Read my posts in this thread to understand why Jews have been persecuted. The Bible has recollections of Jewish persecution, and in all those cases we brought it on ourselves.

For our sins we were exiled from the Holy Land, and whenever we break the Torah, G-d punishes us.

I hate that scapegoating term. It disgusts me fully.

This is crap that alot of ego-inflated secularized non-Torah observing Jews say to try and feel like they're so special that the whole world hates them.

The truth is, Jews have had their hands dirty throughout history, too. But this is because Jews have departed from the faith. Jews have misbehaved in our host countries and the Gentiles have had no choice but to react.

Using your logic, American Indians would have to be scapegoats as well, considering how they are a minority.

As a Jew I feel INSULTED whenever one tries to pass us off as weak, innocent victims. We are not weak. Jews have always held positions of power in their host countries throughout the ages. And if we are persecuted it's not merely for people having blind hate. There are no reasons for people to hate Jews unless Jews cause people to hate us.
