Why do people say Kai Greene will not win an Olympia?
Ive seen several people say that Kai will never win an Olympia. Why exactly do you think he wont? I saw a pic from the last Olympia with him Jay, and Phil. Personally i think he could win in the future. Is the more political issues why he wont win? just wondering. thanks
Please ignore the fact my rep bar is red. Nobody on here respects me anymore because of that

Some people think that politics will hold him back. The theory is that he is not a marketable bodybuilder and his past will harm the image of the IFBB.
I don't personally agree with that, but that's why people think he won't.

Heath and Centopani are gonna dual it out and Cutler and Greene will battle for 3rd and 4th place. Kai looks swole but hes just too short for the type of physique he envisioned. If he was 5'10" his vision would of worked wonderfully.

Kai's not short at all, he's average height for a bodybuilder.
I don't know if this falls into the category but I heard prostate isn't kept healthy if constant pressure is done on it, I heard it is one of issues for many bikers. Not sure if the pressure from heavy military press puts many pressure on prostate, but according to my personal experience, I think it does, if I sit straight on the bench instead of sitting like inclined bench manner (I can feel the pressure around my prostate if I am sitting vertically with heavy military press)

IMHO this is what will prevent him from winning Mr. Olympia. Although his physique Olympia worthy his past and the way he presents his physique is not what IFBB wants to represent the sport.

Do the humpty hump
Like some others have already said, a lot of people don't think he will ever win a sandow because of the politics of bodybuilding. Is it true? Well, it could very well be because it's quite obvious that politics play a very big role in bodybuilding and how the judging goes. Take last years Olympia for example, and many other shows for that matter.

Thanks for replying everyone. yeah i was thinking the whole political aspect would be an issue. I hope the best for him though, i really think he deserves it, not like anyone doesn't, but i would like to see him win one.

If bb'ing were more mainstream and more people knew about it, I think Kai's past would harm it's image. However, not a whole lot of people are fully aware of what really goes on in bodybuilder or who any of the competitors are for that matter.

^^This. He will not be battling for 1st...
The powerlifter visions a certain weight he would like to lift, he uses his body to achieve it and he gets big as a side effect.
The bodybuilder visions a certain physique he would like to aquire, he uses weights to achieve it and he gets stronger as a side effect.

BRB Shredding
In a sport thats so serious.
What holds him back:
1. His past.
2. His posing.
3. His inability to bring something outrageous to the Olympia stage.
4. Politics.
I think if he can bring point 3 to the stage, he'd be hard to deny, but it depends i guess.
Durius, Melius, Celerius, Fortius.

^^ This.
I laugh at people who say Kai is getting screwed by the IFBB. He hasn't brought an Olympia package to the Olympia stage yet. Over-dieted in 09, significantly off in 2010, and Phil was unbeatable last year.
We really don't know if Kai's past will hold him back until he actually has an Olympia winning physique. But I think if he truly, 100% nails it at the O, the judges will have no choice but to give it to him, or they will have a riot on their hands.

if people think that politics are holding him back then kai never would have become a 2x arnold classic winner

Phil Heath has this to say to Centopani:

It is.
As said Kai has yet to bring his best package to O' stage. If he is the best man up there he will win.

Centopani who didn't even win the Arnold Classic last year is now going to take on Heath for the Olympia? Impressive.

I gotta say these two versions of Kai Greene in the last year were very impressive:
New York

Sheru Classic

Too bad he hasn't peaked in the Olympia stage yet.

Agree with most others here it has not been politics so far, Kai needs to improve his physical conditioning on game day and also his posing still has a significant techinical room for improvement. Until both of these are up to Olympia standards Kai will not be a real contender. PERIOD.

Kai could learn from Lionel Beyeke. If I had the time and access to all the video footage I would like to see if any major title has or will have been won this year without applause begging. Its more than just random chance.
