Another form of motivation, I realized today
So, I recently placed an order through here (bb.com) Quick shipping, great prices, awesome customer service, nothing short of the usual service I have come to expect and love. Anyhow....
On this last order I was looking through the misc things I could buy and ended up grabbing a "bodybuilding.com" t-shirt. Very comfortable, very nice looking. Today was Sunday and I had errands to run. Usually I am not a straight T-shirt guy but I wore it today and it made me feel different. I noticed a lot of people looking at it. I am sure a lot of them were laughing at me inside thinking man that kid has never touched a weight in his life, but its obvious hes touched to many cup cakes. at least that is what I was figuring they were thinking. But it made me happy. It made me realize my change for the better. It made me feel good to rep this site (love you guys, and this site is awesome) and know that day to day I have been bustin my ass in my journey to a healthier body, and ultimately a healthier life.
Might seem stupid to some, but it made me feel good and was encouraging to me in an odd way. Keep up the hard work to all of you, and good luck to all of us, for with our motivation and dedication, we know no boundaries..

I know exactly how you feel, but don't be. I am extremely self conscious when it comes to certain things. Like I said, After a while, you are happy for it to be noticed. People see it and realize you care. Be proud of lifestyle and hard work, damn straight! I have been "normal/average" my whole life in regards to my body and I am sick of it.
thanks others for posting and for support. this is a great place, and I enjoy reading about everyone elses progress just like I do mine!

Naw dude. If you set a goal your try and get it. If you don't get it try harder. Seems like you need to get some more inspiring qoutes because that is not motivating at all.
And it shows

i think hes right. if you are accepting the way you are now while working hard at improving yourself you'll have a much more positive outlook, better mental health, less stress etc. which will make it easier to stick to your goals etc. you just have to be realistic about it.

not to be a downer, but the first reaction people have when they see "bodybuilding" on ANYTHING, is of course, "Look ma, he uses steroids" or something of the like.

I couldn't agree with it more. I'm definitely happiest when I have a goal (and 'hope') that I am committed to achieving. It's the journey that keeps me going and positive, rather than having actually reached that goal.

I don't think I'd wear a bb shirt until I was fit, 6pack, and was working on size.
Of course - at that time I honestly plan on wearing a lot of plain white t's with a slim cut fit, and button up shirts with the first 2-3 buttons undone... =P

yeah, I hear that. an all too common stereo type. This place is more of a life style to me though. I am not here to get ripped, veins popping out everywhere and be able to lift a school bus filled with cheer leaders (although it would be cool ) I am here for an ultimate transformation in my life in regards to me health. "body building" to me is about building the body as a whole, not just physical, but mental. I am building my body to be better, to be healthier, to be safer, to be stronger, to be more. I hope someone asks me about the shirt next time I wear it, I will happily let them know what this site is all about, and how there is a section, and an article for anything you could ever want.
Judicial78- agreed. but at the very end I would have to it. you have to humbly accept things yes, but it does not end there, that is where true dedication carries you on so that you can see the big results and changes I do like your sig though.

A lot of people think this way but I think it's silly. Having an interest/hobby/passion in bodybuilding doesn't mean you're a pro bodybuilder. People with interests in space travel aren't embarrassed to admit it because they've never been to space.
A interest in bodybuilding is nothing other than admirable whether you're in shape or not.

im not saying its a bad thing, im just explaining why you get all those looks when wearing the shirt. its not that people have a newfound respect for you or something, but it is a step or two down from wearing a shirt that says "i juice".

My post never said anything against the BB shirt - just that I tend to enjoy stylishness and what not, and I have a certain look in my head that I'm aiming for - and that is to get away from the boring ol black t-shirts...
No doubt though that I'll have a few BB.com shirts here after my next order and I'm sure I'll wear them around the house or in the gym.
