Ladies - Blood Testing

Dear Ladies of the forum,

My girlfriend want to go in for comprehensive blood testing, but can't find a good list of what to ask for.

What sort of things does everyone think she should get covered?

Thyroid, hormones (which ones?), cholesterol, etc....anything else?

Thank you in advance.

Ask for thyroid hormones (T3, T4 ans TSH)
Hormones: Estrogen, progestogens, LH, FSH, testosterone
Insulin
also: Blood lipids: cholesterol (HDL, LDL, VLDL), triglycerides
haematology: white blood cells (WBC), Red blood cells (RBC) haemoglobin etc (usually these are done from one blood sample)
Bilirubin,
liver enzymes,
urea, creatinine
uric acid.

before going for the tests ask for which ones the patient has to be fasting. usually it is required for the insulin for the fasting blood glucose) and for the blood lipids.

I hope this helps

take care
Jessica
