Is there any money in Powerlifting
I want to know if there is any money in power lifting? Because I love to lift as heavy as I can. That would be a great job.

It would be sweet to be an ifbb pro like Jonnie J and still powerlift at a high level and make the fat cash like im sure he does.

I know that Gene Rychlak only powerlifts and puts on meets for the IPA. In his podcast interview on powerliftingwatch.com he states that he makes enough money from endorsments to be a full time powerlifter. Also many elite powerlifters become personal trainers and make a great living off of it because of their lifting stats and experience. Think about it, if you Ryan Kennelly was a trainer at your gym... would you hire him?

Dave Tate, Jim Wendler, Louie Simmons, Mark Rippetoe, Bill Starr, other guys at EliteFTS.com. Do a search on these guys and see how much they make or what they are doing to make money by lifting.

Its like anything else. You have to be a good marketer. Sponsors are how you will make money and you need two things to get sponsors: Incredible lifts, and great marketing techniques. People wanna know you can SELL their products at meets, not just don a bench shirt for them. You pretty much have to sell yourself to your sponsors which can be very challenging because if you have more than one you have to represent each of them equally.
That being said..........no

Well Bill Starr was my cousins S&C coach at Johns Hopkins when he was an All American Lax player there so.....
I dont think it was a volunteer type gig...not a poor school and they have some great programs outside the big fball/bball type sports for instance they won the NC in Lax this year and 2 yrs ago I believe....
Hard to say he made his money from PLing when in reality he was a fulll time coach at a D1 institution and coordinated all the SC programs there from what I heard...plus sold books...plus had seminars and stuff.
