Need a good pair of running shoes
Im looking for a good pair of running shoes. when i say running shoes i dont mean like marathon shoes. just something good that will keep me comfortable running like 3-5 miles. ill be running on a track or around my neighborhood on the street. i bought a pair of Nike Max Air but i havnt wore them yet and im thinking of taking them back if i can find something else. and because they cost $120... any suggestions?

Ive owned 3 pairs of running shoes....By far the best is New Balance. Ive had a pair of Nike's before supposedly were top of the line but they just didnt feel that good and wore out in about 4 monthes of daily use....
On the other hand I have had 2 pairs of new balances' and I had my first pair for 2 years before I had to replace them.. Currently Im using New Balance M1024.. Theyve been awesome. Just my 2 cents...

new balance by far are the best pair of running shoes i've ever used. i'll never use anything else ever again.
try to get a new pair in the evening - that is when your foot is it's largest and the ideal time to buy new shoes.
and be sure they fit snug. my first pair were loose and gave my horrible blisters on my feet. turns out the shoes were too loose, allowing my feet to rub against the shoe, generating heat, and eventually a blister. set me back about 3 days of exercise

unless you have flat feet or really high arches, you should be able to get away with buying in the $50-70 range. best running shoes i ever had i got on sale for $40 (new balance, don't remember which though).
i prefer asics or new balance shoes, never had much luck with nike or adidas.

Racing shoes will get you close (but they probably won't last long on the road).

Go to a running-specific store and have them evaluate your stride and let you know if you over- or under-pronate. That can make a huge difference in the type of shoe that you want.
I ended up with Brooks Addiction 7's and love them.

x2 since I did this my feet and legs feel great after running. I needed stability so I went with the new balances.

Just my 2 cents but I went to a running store and I picked out a Mizuno Wave Rider 10 and really like them. When I told the guy at the store he said it was a good choice because was wearing the same ones. Just pick the one that feels right to you.

I prefer Brooks...they were the most comfortable shoe I've ever owned. I'm a large guy though...so maybe they aren't for everyone.

This is the only way to go. I have very high arches and new balance suck for me specific foot type. The only way to be sure is have your stride evaluated.
