Mmmm...food!
Hello everyone! This is my first time here.
I am interested in competing in the beginning of 2008. My problem is my night time snacking. I do great all day long until about 7 or 8 pm. Does anyone have any good ideas to get rid of this problem? Thanks!

Regardless of what time it is you should eat something if you are hungry, just make sure it is in your macros. A 1/2 c CC or even a protein shake w/ water.

Try to find the root of needing to snack at this time. If you are truly hungry feed yourself. Fit a healthy meal into your macros veg out. If not and you are craving stuff you know you don't want or need, refocus your energy into a hobby, or reading. Or sugar free gum works nicely to take the edge off.

I have the same problem. Try planning an after dinner snack into your calories for the day and plan ahead what you will be snacking on and stock up on it. That way you will be eating something healthy instead of junk. I also started eating my dinner (a light dinner) a little earlier at night (about 6 PM) and schedule a snack at about 8 PM. I hope this helps!

yep I eat my dinner meal at 5.30pm----with the kids and then have my shake at 8pm before bedtime. You could try chromium tablets if its a sugar craving thing, they work well for me.

You just need will power. When contest dieting it is not uncommon to be hungry---especially at first while your body is adjusting and your stomach is shrinking. This is OK and your hunger does not mean you need to eat.
Contest dieting is not easy...it doesn't have to be torture or dangerous, but you need to be strict and you cannot cheat, especially before you reach contest shape.
The only suggestion I have is to visualize what you want to look like and acheive. If you have a good program, you will not starve and soon the results will motivate you too. Just remember you are not alone...we all have to be strong when dieting down!
