Celebrity workouts.

You see alot of celebrities getting in shape for a certain role such as ryan reynolds for blade or Gerard Butler for 300. They talk about insane training like 300 reps and 6 hrs in the gym etc..doing constant cardio. In the end they look great but isn't this kind of training indicative of over training? It took Gerard Butler 4 months to get in shape for 300..does that mean if everyone overdoes exercising and lives at the gym they will get the same results?

The actors were trained by some of the best trainers in the industry.
Most of the "gains" in the cast of 300 were comprised of 3 main factors:

1. They were all new to that kind of exercise, so they achieved dramatic "beginner gains."

2. They lost lots of BF. This is somewhat illusory. For example, compettitive BBers compete many pounds lighter than they carry most of the year. They look their biggest though due to more extreme proportions.

3. Some of their muscles were painted on (shadow/lighting effect).
