Hope you don't mind me adding: It's these kind of things that make me happy that ID honors WA's concealed weapons permit. I'm back and forth in WA and ID regularly.

N. Idaho doesn't have the problems Canyon County has, thank God. Now, your neck of the woods, for years had problems. I don't know if they've been cleared up yet or not, but when my brother lived up there the schools my nephew went to weren't the safest places.

There are definetly some not nice places around me, but I did my homework prior to moving so my kids are in the best school district here.

I just heard the name of the suspect the police killed and was shocked. I checked the pic and everything - he was the son of our next door neighbor when we lived in Wilder!
He used to watch our house and take care of our horses when we travelled, and on occassion even babysat for us. My wife is devastated, as is my youngest son. As I mentioned, the kid used to babysit for him.
He was such a good kid back then, what the hell happened to him?! I'm still kind of in shock.
Me calling him a 'creep' in my previous post kind of haunts me a bit, but in the end I guess that is what he had become. I feel sorry for his family.

Somewhere along the line he fell of the "good kid" track. Whether it be family or friends or what ever. You never know what goes on behind closed doors that may have driven him down the path he chose.
But in your sorrow, feel sorry that he went down the road he chose, Ted... and yes, he did choose that final road. He didn't have to pull the trigger. I learned from my wife, who works in the law enforcement field, that the "motive" for the original shooting in the parking lot was the man "took" the parking space the others wanted.
So, in that light, he made piss poor choice. Even in the toughtest of situations, a person always has a choice in how to behave. And in this situation, he certainly had a choice. It wasn't a fight or flight issue.
Don't feel bad for calling him what he was. It's just too bad lives had to be lost. I'm just glad more lives weren't taken, in the end... and thank God he wasn't that way when he took care of your kid!

Wow! I felt bad reading the above story.
I cant believe someone could take another's person's life over a parking spot!
Yet we hear stories like these every day!!!
This is why I should buy a deserted island and move my family!

I went to lunch and had a cheeseburger, onion rings and a huckleberry milkshake for lunch. OMG did it taste good!!! I'm sure I'll be paying for it soon. I haven't had a yummy greesy burger, let alone onion rings in a long, long, long time.
It was just a little bit of heaven.

Good for you! I feel confident that you deserved it
Now if only the rest of your journal was as blissful (referring to the shooting over the parking space).

Thanks, bud. I agree. I did deserve it, despite what Lisa says.
Quick update - Arms tonight. Consisted of:
Weighted Dips on parallel bars - 5 sets of 8
EZ Bar Curls - 4 sets of 8
Overhead Rope Extensions - Superset with Rope Pressdowns - 4 total sets, 8 reps on each. Talk about fried triceps!
Incline DB Curls - kept getting an odd pain in my right wrist.
Cable Rope Hammer Curls Superset with high rep rope pressdowns.
As you can see, not exactly my normal arm day... did a bit of experimentation with both exercises and routine. Was nice to do parallel bar dips again, although I don't care for the station. It's the type with the "assist" pad that you place a weight plate on to keep it out of the way. Well, it prevented me from keeping my legs as straight as I like... but it worked. Five hours later... my triceps are sore. It was a good workout. I felt strong and full of energy throughout. That superset was a killer though.
Tomorrow is going to be an "extra credit" day at the gym. I think I'm gonna do a little back work as well as some cardio.
Later!

Things that make you go, hmmmm
Took some measurements today and posted them in bodyspace. Some of the measurements are goofy in the amount of change... so, I'm not sure if I did it incorrectly before, or this time... although I reproduced the measurements this time around. So... for your enjoyment
Weight 234lbs up 4lbs.
Shoulders 55.5" +1.5" ??? BIG difference.
Chest 47.5 -.75
Thigh 24.5 -.25"
Upper Arm (cold, flexed) 18" +.25" Yah, baby... 18"!!
Forearm 14.5 same as before
Waist 42 3/8" +3/8" Not happy about that... guess that's where the fat in my recent weight has gone?
Hips - 41.5 +1/8"
My arms, thighs and hips are the leanest portions of my body... so I think there's little fat in those measurements. My chest measurement is down. I was thinking in the mirror it looked smaller... so hopefully I've lost some fat there. The waist measurement bothers me... seems like I've shifted the fat around a bit. Hard to tell what is improvment and what is not. I was happy with the upper arm measurement. 18" dead-on on the tape.
That's it from wacko land.
Later.

Saturday update - extra credit back work
Wanted to hit my back an with an extra workout this week - no particular reason, just cuz.
Consisted of:
Rack Chins - 5 sets
T-Bars - warmup and 4 working sets. Had to do the "old fashioned" bar in the corner routine. The end kept coming off the ground when I lifted with any force, so I strapped two 10lb weights on to the end and it seemed to stay in place.
Wide Grip Pulldowns - 4 sets
Seated Cable Rows - 4 sets
Today, Sunday, was a take it easy day. Temps were back above 100 today, so I stayed inside and got some freelance work done. Other than Mass, not much else going on this weekend.
Later, folks.

so what you're saying is that cheeseburgers and onion rings are NOT a part of your food program?
wait a minute....
let me go make yet anouther change to my newly revised personal food program! dang. if you cant' include burgs and rings, what fun is it!?
but really... it was very good, right? that's what counts.
yummm....
everytime someone mentions onion rings, i think back some some rings i had at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse a few years ago. they were huge! needed a fork and knife to get at them. and, so very tasty.

No confessions in here guys... the confessional is closed.
Ok - chest day. Decided to do a bit of pyramiding this time around.
Hammer Strength Incline 4 sets
H.S. Flat Bench - 4 sets
H.S. Decline Bench - 4 sets
DB Flyes - 4 sets
My strength was pretty good in the inclines, but off a bit on the flat bench. That's to be expected on my second movement, really. I had good strength again in the third movement... primarily because I found myself chatting with a nice looking young lady. If ya gotta talk and waste time at the gym, might as well be while talking to a hot girl.
Anyway, finished strong with the declines and the flyes as well. My chest is pumped and very tired.

Hey Ted - ah yes, the lovely smokey sky. It makes for some cool sunsets, though. Thankfully it seems to be sitting higher in the atmosphere... I haven't noticed it much down in the valley. That Monumental Fire is very close to my beloved Warm Lake... and there's another on the fire map even closer that the news hasn't even mentioned. Not happy about that. We're supposed to go up there in 3 weeks for my birthday. I hope it's still there!

I know what you mean! Might have to settle for camping in the Barber Flats area - it looks like that area is still fire free.

So long as the fire isn't at the lake, we'll go there. The bummer (but smart thing) is that beginning tomorrow, campfires are not allowed anywhere in the forests.

That's assuming that the roads aren't closed on the way up. Hopefully we'll get some much needed rain before then.
