Pre-Contest Diet

I am new to this whole figure competition, I decided to train for October show, however, the workout, I got. I am a little confused on how to figure out my diet. I realize that the diet is a bigger part than anything else, as far as prepping to compete, however, can anyone give me a little advice on how to figure out how many grams of protein, carbs, and fat I need to get into my diet, I'm thoroughly confused, and I really want to get the nutrition down before the weeks start gettin' closer! Or perhaps a good website to find what I am looking for. Thank you so much

yeah I agree, if you can find a trainer who is experienced in prepping competitors that would save you a LOT of headaches. Diets are so very individual. But if you want to get an idea, check out some of the girls' journals. There are diets posted in there, you just have to find them. You could check out Layne's pre-contest articles. Girls eat just like the guys pretty much.

just remember that if you do do your own diet, even if you follow someones already published diet its not gonna tell you were you can have a cheat meal, if any of course, what day to carb load if its a yo yo, when to cut your carbs, and of course the obvious it goes by body weight when setting up the numbers

nutrtion

Hey girl shoot me a pm, I work with a lot of girls preping them for competition, I cover everything from nutrition, to suit selection, to modifying cardio and training, to tanning, to posing and standing on stage, all you need for your contest prep. Send me a pm, and I can see there is a match to your needs, I also know many other coaches and professionals I can refer you to as well.

For sure get a nutritionist that's worked with BBers or figure girls to do your diet. Although I feel like I have a good handle on working out and eating clean, I still defer to the experts when it comes to competition prep.

My nutritionist would give me my meal plans on a week by week basis. Every saturday I'd weigh in, he'd caliper me in 11 places, and we'd talk about how I was feeling (moods, energy, "movements", EVERYTHING, haha...). Then he'd give me my diet for the next week based on the results. When I had dropped a good amount of body fat he'd give me a certain time frame to cheat that day, sometimes 1 meal, sometimes 12 whole hours.

It alleviates so much mental stress to just do what someone else tells you and not have to think about it.
