syntha-6?
I had some free samples of BSN's syntha-6 protein powder and I really loved it. I was just wondering if any other ladies have used it as a protein supplement or if anyone has any reccommendations before I go out and buy it. Is it a decent type to use as a woman?

Love that Protein
I love any of the syntha flavored proteins from BSN. They blend incredibly in just plain water...and taste so creamy. I have used so many different proteins. I actually crave the moccachino at times. I mix half a scoop of the syntha mocachino into my tea in the morning to create my own chai. Also, the syntha proteins have around 5 or 6 grams of fiber per serving. The added fiber does increase the total calories per serving however. The calories are around 200 per serving instead of the conservative 130 like some. I use it with just water so I don't add to the calories. You don't need milk with the syntha proteins. A little more expensive than the other proteins but worth it. So for a women, if you are watching calories...just use it with water. If you use protein twice a day try using a different type for the second whey protein meal. I usually just have my protein shake once a day until I have gained in fitness level and have lost some fat and weight. Try Optimum Nutrition's Gold Standard any flavor. I can personally guarantee the flavor and blendability of both products. I hope this has been helpful.

thanks so much for the input. I really love the taste of syntha as well and like you said it blends great with water. I'm not too concerned with the calories but I can see it being a bit too calorie laden when mixed with milk so I'll stick with water. Thats an awesome idea for the chai! I'm going to have to try that. I myself like to blend the strawberry with fresh pineapple and half of a banana with water and ice. I look forward to my shakes now! Thanks again

I also love the taste of Syntha 6! It tastes so good when mixed in water! I adore the Vanilla Ice Cream one!
I don't mind the extra calories, cause they really are not that many more than a regular protein powder. Only about 70 extra calories.

hmm I'm pretty sure it is 2 grams of sugar per serving. I'm only doing one shake a day right now so I don't think it will kill me. But I could be wrong... I realize sugar isn't good for someone trying to get lean.

If you want something really good, put the chocolate into your coffee. When I do this, I do not add anything. I have yet to try the Mocachino, but that would be great in the coffee as well. I love the taste, plus while your on the go, you can shake it in a cup with water.

about 15g of carbs per scoop, all of which eventually breaks down into sugar down the pipeline.

I agree that it tastes heavenly in just plain water. But i think its a little too sweet for me. I also think that for that many calories, the serving size is way too small (a 61 g scoop for only 4-5 oz of water???!!!) I'm used to my 8-12 ounces man. The other problem i have with it is that it makes me rather gassy and then i end up going a few times than normal for the day (if i have the min 2 servings for the day). I'm not sure i woult try it when cutting though. Now that i'm bulking up, its a good one to use on pure taste alone.

Yeah Ive been using it too, i love the taste even in water. I rotate the strawberry and cookies and creme in when I get bored of the lower sugar/carb protiens. I have been using for months now and no weight gain with its addition, but I use it for breakfast on the run mostly, not my regular.

to be fair, a significant portion of the carbs in syntha-6 comes from fiber.
