If it is built in China than the equipment is probably built for Chinamen (5'6" is average).
The **** looks like equipment you'd utilize to outfit a shoddy home-gym for a teenager or some **** you'd find at a ****ty high school gym class.
Demand your money back. If he doesn't give it back, threaten a lawsuit, see how that strikes him.

Yes, when the welds on the dumbells break off and that causes the weight portion to fall...you have the makings of a lawsuit. If anyone gets hurt due to the equipment malfunction...then he will have serious issues.

You may have said it was 3 weeks somewhere on the first page of this thread. Before you go to the tribunal...get your story straight. Try to be truthful as well

That is stretching it a bit...
Gyms are free to "upgrade" the equipment as they see fit aren't they? I mean...it happens all the time in the US. Some machines are removed and others are added...
Defining the word "upgrade" will be key here. Too bad you don't have pics of the previous equipment.

Not sure were I said 3 weeks. The owner said it will be closed for 1-2 days Saturday-Sunday and re open monday. It ended up taking a week. Opened for a week people complained to the $hit house. Said he needs to close another week to change the equipment over. So that is 3 weeks. I went back after that and tried to train there and then left after a week. So basically tried to put up with the crap for 4 weeks then left.
No squat rack for 3 weeks, no leg press for 3weeks, no smith machine for 3 weeks, no lat pull down for 3 weeks as it took him 3 weeks to weld those handles back. But even with the handles back on the ROM on that machine is scary. It goes so far out to the side it is not funny.
So all I could use was the bench press which was wobbly as hell and trying to keep balance while doing a set was a task!!
I might have some old pictures of the gym that I took ages aho will take them with me. But they only show a small portion of the gym. They do show the squat rack, bench press, smith machine and lat pul downs.

Dude that's ****ty. I'm pissed that the gym I went to got "upgraded" but damn, you got screwed sideways. Is there anything else in the area cheaper? Cause I know if you head up towards St Kilda, prahran south yarra etc etc you can't get anything for under 700 a year, most are about 1,000.

Yeah man I ended up going to a gym in Dingley called Healthlink. They did it for $50 per month. All the other ones like fitness first etc.. wanted $70-80 per month too much.

Yeah mine was taken over by fitness first, went from $40 a month to $38 a fortnight. They bought in all those cute preloaded rubber BB's and I think are getting rid of all the DB's hgiher than 40kg, I know heaps of Fitness firsts don't go past 40kg.

Yeah I hear you. The place where I am at now the biggest Dumbells are 50kg which is not that high either. But I really had no other option as I went everywhere that was close enough to travel.

I think you talking about a different one. Never seen fights there, this gym was the best I could find for the money and location. I don't have time driving 30+ mins to gym. Oh well.

Here is the website to the GYM.
He is still promoting his gym with pictures of the old equipment. Why do such a thing when you have done such an upgrade LOL....
http://www.a1fitnessclub.com.au/
Feel free to send him an email what you think about his gym. Feedback is always welcome I think!
Note on the home page left hand side
Up-to-date training equipment hahahahaha
I have found some pictures of the old Equipment. This equipment was good! Heavy duty, nothing moved it was sturdy and worked a treat. If the gym survived with this equipment for more then 15 years then it proves it was good!
You can see the old smith machine slightly in the picture. The leg press machine was awesome. I did not even bother taking a picture of the new leg press machine as you can imagine it was crap!!!!!

well he got it from china... that would be the reason right there why you need to be 5ft tall to use the machines.

I am 6ft1 so nothing major really. I really dwarf that machine. I think these must be the mini versions or something.
Disappointed is an understatement. I never understand how he got rid of the good stuff and brought in this garbage.
And he was stupid enough to sell all the old equipment before even unwrapping this stuff and looking at it. The guy has nothing in his head. He would have made a profit on selling the old stuff and buying this garbage.

Ya they are allowed to upgrade whenever they see fit, but this was a huge downgrade. I would not stand for that, lawsuits will be flying left and right soon. Take him to court and never go back, I would be scared of severely hurting myself.
Wow I hope court goes your way and that owner gets sued bad for not caring about the safety of the people that go to his gym.
