I was watching a video of a race of mine 4 months ago and i saw that my stance in the blocks is alot longer than everyone elses (which means it takes alot longer for me to get out of the blocks). When i tried to shorten it up i felt like i lost power. I had been doing box squats and decided to do some research.
i started to do parallel squats with anything above 225, and anything equal to it and below i do ATG. Since than my 60 meters has dropped from 7.12 to 6.43 (both times were an average of 3), with track spikes on but without blocks.

Regarding what is bolded, I totally agree. If something that's considered truth by many just doesn't work with your body mechanics, for whatever reason, and wound up leading to injury, there's no reason to keep doing it. Do what works for you, really.
I just hope you didn't take what I wrote the wrong way. You asked for critique, I gave you my opinion, and hopefully it didn't come off as too harsh.
Keep on truckin, bruddah.

Not at all man. I appreciate the time you took to read and comment in this thread!

Actually, I should have mentioned that I still do ATG with 225 only. It's the heaviest I can go really, at that depth.
Anyway, time to go do legs! Figured I'd check back on this thread before trying 315 again tonight!

your form looks good. also good job on DL. i'm working on my form on 315 also. i've gone up to 325x5, but not parrellel. right now 315 i can break parellel for reps. but i switch up free weight squats with smith machine. also my patella has been hurting, so i've been using a neoprense sleeve, but some douche stole it today from my porch. i find doing hacks, then leg press, then squats better for my knees as the juices are flowing in the legs. my weight doesn't drop to much and i get a killer pump.

The way your hands are turning back while your on descent seems like your upper back is not tight ?
try wider on the grip ...

squat looked fine...if you can do 315 for 10 with form like that, you don't need much critique. lots of douchebaggery in this thread...
you don't have to force people to break hips first...it may be biomechanically sounder for him to break at knees.
the only thing that i noticed was slight GMing on the way up. tighter core would fix that. and bringing your hands in on the descent (or forward i should say) just looks awkward.
but keep up the good work dude! the 495 dead video looked good as well. maybe ass lower, less of a RDL motion at the top

You were not deep enough at all
wtf is that bull**** about dont do heavier than 225 on ass2grass? Lool! stupid..
Its only if you let yourself down fast and bounce heavy it will hurt your knees. Do it with proper form and do REAL SQUAT. dont halfsquat.
controlled down, deep, and explosive up- straight back.
Let your ego at home and do real squats (talking to everyone whos doing half squats)
