New York Barbells will cut any rack to whatever height you need for $50.00. Also Texas Strength Systems will also cut their rack at no additional charge but you will be looking at around $1000.00 for theirs.

Thanks!
My basement has a drop ceiling so I can remove sections of it to expose the joists. How does that set up work for you? Does it feel solid or does it feel like you're going to rattle the house apart? Did you drill all the way through the joists or what?
If you can find it, let me know where you got that from!

here's a site that sells the hanger:
http://www.ringside.com/Everlast-Hea...tinfo/EVHBH+2/
i bought the spring that is between the bag and hanger on ebay, it made a big difference. the hanger comes with 4 lag bolts, just drilled pilot holes and then put the bolts in.

WAIT!
Get the Body Solid GPR378 !
I have very short ceilings in the basement and I didnt even think I could squeeze an 82incher in there. But the body solid above lists 82, but it is not. It comes in at like 80, I even had room to add the lat attach that raised it a bit, its still fit.
I'd recommend the lat attach, its smooooth, plus an Iron master bench. The addons for that bench alone are insane. Crunch, leg attach, dip, pully, preacher, etc...
So its a short incredibly solid rack, 3 inch tubing with nice knurled pull up bar.
It also holds weights with the addons.
Was in your situation and am now very very happy. It is a bit costly though. Racks about 500-600, lat was 300+ dips were 50, etc.. but its top notch.

Update:
So I spoke with NYBB and they can alter racks for $50 just like the above poster said! I am probably going to call them tomorrow and pursue that. Some of their benches look pretty solid so I might pick one of those up. I'll let you guys know how this plays out...

did you talk to someone about shipping, or get a quote of the website? i've heard you can get a better rate if you call.

I did and it's like $200 to ship to me.
I am probably going to end up driving to York and getting their rack. It looks solid and fits my height requirement. The only trade off is no dip bars, but I think I'll just buy a dedicated dip station.

Just use a little creativity, a freaking dip station on a power rack is just two bars.
