Low Calorie Protein Supplement?
Hey errbody. I don't post on here often and would use the search engine to maximal function, but I don't have too much free time to sift through tons of threads so I apologize in advance. I work out pretty frequently and would like to add a protein supplement, but I am more into the idea of being "cut" versus bulky. I have been trying to lose some weight lately (I'm 6' and have dropped from about 180 to around 171 in the last couple weeks from increasing cardio and taking in less calories) so I am looking for something that is an effective protein supplement but won't offset my work to take in less calories/lose fat.
Also, what are some opinions on a pre-workout supplement? Are they helpful or not too necessary? Thanks for any advice in advance.

protein isolate are usually lower in calories then WPC and others.
You don't need a preworkout supplement unless you're looking for some energy, endurance or focus.

If you are going to take a decent protein supplement, then it can only be so low in calories.
Better off focusing on a good product, taking it with water if you are concerned about calories, and having one less cookie each day.

Any specific brands that you'd recommend? Price isn't a huge deal.

Protein has the same amount of calories in per gram...Just find one without many carbs or fat.

What he said. Fat has 9 and carbs 4 calories per gram, so I'd favor one with zero or very low fat, while a little carbs are fine. Baked chicken and cottage cheese are great foods for protein, and if you want powder, whey isolate would be best, but some whey concentrate blend would be fine, too, since it has 1-2g and 3-5g fat and carbs, and that really doesn't make a big difference.

Is their a specific isolate that is recommended? A worker at GNC was trying to sell me me on Isopure, but I wanted to consult with someone that didn't have an agenda before I dropped 80 dollars on that sheeeet.
