Heritability of height corresponds more to the genetic makeup of the father

Nvm, it's slightly more from the mother. I fail
http://www.husdyr.kvl.dk/htm/kc/popgen/genetics/6/4.htm
Quote:
The material for calculation of heritability of height of humans was shown in chapter 1. As mentioned there, the heritability was calculated as the regression of offspring on basis of the average of the parents. For height of humans it was around 0.6.
Mother-offspring correlation was found to be 0.4 while the correlation between father and offspring was only 0.2. This lower correlation between father and offspring might be caused by the fact that these do not share the same significant common environment as the mother and offspring. The 0.2 correlation between father and offspring gives a heritability of 0.4 for height of humans. This means that the mother-offspring correlation is highly influenced by their common environment.

- Unless the gene for height was solely on the X or Y chromosome we would get our height from both parents. Mostly likely our height is determined from various interactions with different genes from different chromosomes.
- I'm sure environment also plays a big role in determining ones height

it depends which genes are received from each parent. If the mom and dad are both tall the kid will be tall. If the dad is short and the mom is tall the kid has a 50/50 chance of being tall. know what I'm sayin' dave man
