Bad Gas
Hey, I don't know what I started eating but ever since I starting changing my diet I've been getting awful gas. I've tried beano but that doesn't help.
This is enough gas to heat a small city. Any ideas to help decrease it?

im not gonna take time to make sure im limiting how much air i intake with each bite of food.
i'd rather stink up a house than worry about the volume of air that enters my mouth with each bite

Did you increase your protein intake? Sometimes this can cause gas for people. It might mean you are consuming more protein than your body/muscles can use up, or you have problems digesting proteins in which case you could take Digestive Enzymes.
Sometimes mixing proteins with certain carbs can cause gas or so I've heard, but I'm not sure.

Chances are its the increase in protein... I.E. Protein farts. I learned to live with them haha. Egg farts are the worse.

Much of the gas in your gut is swallowed air.

This I didn't know...
But wouldn't the main cause of a "rich aroma" be from fermentation/etc? I guess it depends if the problem is a large volume of gas, or just a normal amount of putrid gas, or both.

Maybe not digesting your food properly? Mixing proteins with starches/sugars can change the hydrochloric acid ph level in your stomach and it doesn't digest properly then the sugars/starches will ferment in your body and protein will putrefy, drinking while eating does the same.

I have increased my protein intake dramatically. I probably ate 50-100g/day and now I take about 328g protein / 366g carbs / 124g fat in order to gain wait (which has oddly been slow). I started at 142 lbs and now I'm sitting at 150ish, though some weeks haven't been very consistent.
Anyway, back to subject, perhaps as kris stated, digestive enzymes might help? My brother also told my grains will produce gas; and also mentioned here that mixtures may be the cause- any solutions other than the enzymes?
I don't mind a fart here and there, but today I seriously ripped for an hour straight- that's just not right. Plus my protein intake today was fairly low.
Can anything else like vitamins or supplments cause gas?

It's not like they digest in an hour, right? I'm eating six meals a day and dividing carbs from protein/fat would be almost impossible. Unless I'm wrong... maybe carbs can be mostly digested in less than an hour?

I personally don't use them, never had the need. I do remember in grade school science fair though someone grew plants, one set of plants using tap water, second set using tap water that was boiled on the stove, third set using water boiled in the microwave, the ones that had microwaved water were sick or died.
I personally have no idea on how good or bad microwaves are though.

I too alwys have the bad gas, but I live with it. After lunch its usually at its worst. Good thing I have no one in my life to share it with! HA.
Best is waking up first thing in the AM, eating 4 or 5 eggs, oats, and a protein shake, then straight to the airport and on the plane. I feel sorry for those around me. I'll look around evil eyeing people then cover my nose with my shirt and act just as disgusted as everyone else.
