5.2 for a RB is terrible, you have 0 chance of being a RB at that speed no matter what college. Not hating, just keeping it real.

OP, you would have to be insanely dedicated and strict to do what you want to do and have a good skill set in the first place. I would recommend looking into sport specific training to improve yourself overall. But honestly, you have your work cut out for you.

By all means if you think you can do it try out but you might look like a fool. But who really gives a ish what misc says. walk on and try out. make the team; good for you, dont; at least you tried. my 2 cents

I just wanna give it a shot, im pretty good at baseball, played varsity for all 4 years of highschool and we won 2 state championships but I am just missing football so much.

With your numbers, size, speed, lack of exp I'd say the odds are stacked a lot against you. You're telling us you have love handles at 185 and you wanna put on like 30 lbs in a year?
Sorry bro but I think you should stick to D3 baseball.
All the good D3 schools put in a sh!tload of work, its like having a full time job. Their are some crappy d3 schools that have a lot of players who dont do sh!t but then again who wants to play on a team that goes 1-9 and loses by an avg of 45 pts a game?
I think you'd have a better shot at d3 baseball

Depends on what type of back you are. Rashard Mendenhall is 5'10 225, Cedric Benson is 5'11 225, Clinton Portis is 5'11 221. But I agree that 40 time has to come way down.

recievers are around 4.8-5.0
RB- 4.9-5.1
our fastest kid runs a 4.7

I didnt know a 55.9 ccompletion rating & 98 TD's and 74 Interceptions was accurate.
Kid claims Eli Manning is a franchise QB and says he is up there in skill with Rivers and Romo. Yet he doesnt even know what makes a franchise QB.

Gah this thread irritates me.
5' 10" 185? You're the equivalent of some of the best running backs in the nation at the D1 level. Don't put yourself down. You do realize that skill position players chug water and try not to pee before initial weigh in...
Your 40 time simply won't get you anywhere. At your weight, that's the 40 time of an athlete who failed to train for the 40. Maybe you're just naturally slow, and that means you'll never play at the running back position at 5' 10" 185.
Speed kills--get faster.

A lot of pro RBs are 220 or more. Ricky Williams, Cedric Benson, Cadillac Williams, LaDanian Tomlinson, et all.
