Just a diet for myself, i was fooling around with high pro/fat and some veg/fruit but i wasn't growing and subsequently just lost bodyfat.
Now that i've thrown in 160g oatmeal pre workout and post-workout im growing! High five!
I hear you're contest is not far away, mate if i lived in the US i'd be rockin out to that show just to see your freaky mass on stage!
Yeah I'm doing those low carb days on smaller muscle groups right now, or bodyparts that don't take as much energy to hammer out. I might have to take your protocol into serious consideration man!
Yes, I'm seriously considering competing next spring or summer. I'll be doing the NPC Natural Michigan. It's close to home, and it's tested. I've heard stories about the NPC, but I could care less. It's not gonna scare me off from doing a show. I just wanna go out there and see what happens. Feel out the experience.

From all of the much appreciated hatemail that I've been recently receiving from all of the non-believers on youtube, Ive decided to speak my mind a little bit...
In a nutshell...jealously, insecurity, poor determination, lack of dedication, laziness, boredom, 12 oz. curls, keyboard presses with high-reps, running of the mouth, worrying about someone elses training/physique, setting limits on what can/can't be accomplished, and just flat out crybaby bull***t is not going to get you anywhere!!! How do you expect any achievement to come about yourself with any or all of those? You can't!!! You fail!!! It's that simple. I'm not talking about any of you guys who are following my log btw, I'm speaking about those who have nothing better to do but bash others who are doing winning at what they love to do more than anything.
When I entered this sport, I signed an agreement with myself and have kept this very train of thought..."I can look like these freaks without the juice", and I tell that to myself every single day of my life. I know that there are many others out there with better genetics than me, have things a bit easier, have more money, or whatever...but those and other kinds of things keep my head held up high and not up my a**!!! Wanna know something else that p***es me off? The work that I did for AX. Yeah, I was offered to be in FLEX Magazine on one of their ads. I'm thinking, "wow, cool!" Then I go and pick up the magazine when the ad was running, and what do I see? My photo in a f*****g 3-AD advertisement!!! Like, wow what a slap in the face!!! I still get crap from people about that on here sometimes and it sucks! I never used that stuff, and never ever would. The supplement companies are a bunch of con artists!!! Stick to protein, carbs, and vitamins...and that's it!!! Don't fall for their stupid s***.
Those of you who have others around you pull the juice card on you, whether it's at the gym, the grocery store when you're buying food, at a public event, or what have you... always remember how hard you've worked to get to where you are today. When the sky is the limit, your physique development and progress are endless! This is why I envy guys like Layne Norton, Tommy Jeffers, Jeff Rodriguez, Skip LaCour, Jeff Willet, Kevin Richardson, and Jim Cordova(just to name a few) so much. These and other great natural bodybuilders are an incredible reminder to myself and other passionate lifters of what is achieveable and then some. They set no boundaries, and neither should you! Don't be ordinary, be EXTRAORDINARY.
What caused me to post all of this is what I just read an hour ago by some dude who's almost Fing 50, and has nothing better to do than troll videos and say ridiculous things, and I mean RIDICULOUS!!! I have Branch Warren as my background picture so that means I take stuff. Or, I have veins and low bodyfat from training my a** off for so many years, but that means "drugs man"...so friggin' stupid lol. I've noticed guys who do heroin are quite vascular and veiny, do they take steroids too? For the love of God man!!! Like I said, STUPID!!! I guess to conclude this, eat s*** youtubers, keyboard warriors, guys who've never seen a dedicated passionate natural bodybuilders in their entire life but want to p*** and moan about it to feel better about themselves...am I missing anything? Oh yeah I'm missing this, F**K YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All of you guys though who have been reading and following along with my training journal, THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH!!! You guys always inspire me, and a majority of the time when I'm training I'm thinking about you guys. You help make this whole process that much more enjoyable and give me that extra encouragement to not let myself and all of you down, EVER!!! Keep training hard homies
Haters gon' hate Kev. Keep doin' what YOU do. Nothing else matters.
yeah that's what they do best, right?!? For example, I'm scheduled to eat again right now. What are they gonna do? Get McDonald's, go heavy on the fries and ketchup, up their bodyfat percentage and send me some more love. They probably won't even eat at all for that matter. Always great compliments...pardon me while I go have my next anabolic meal bro
Don't get the wrong idea that the haters outnumber the ones you inspire. It's just that, unlike these keyboard warriors, we don't have infinite free time to express our appretiation towards your blood, sweat and tears. Never let that crap affect you in any way ! The more you grow, the worse they're gonna feel. And keep those vids coming !
I agree with everyone above Kev. I don't think I've ever posted on your log but I have been following it for 6 months or so and you have completely changed the way I work out and think. Needless to say my body has changed accordingly. Thanks for the inspiration man.
Yesterday's workout for chest and forearms was not so good My left trap is at it again...acting up! It was seriously affecting all of my chest movements, most noticeably on Flat Bench and Flat Dumbbell Presses. I had to go easy on myself. It was nice though to go over to the dip station, drape two 30 pound chains around my neck and pound out 25 deep reps. That really gets everyone saying, wtf? Haha. Forearm training went well, it always does. Loaded up the Gripper Machine with 5 and a quarter for 10 reps, then 6 plates for 7 reps. Finally, did Standing Dumbbell Forearm Wrist Curls with the 90s for 20 reps, and then 100s for 12 reps. Did 20 minutes of cardio on the bike @ just a level 9 to finish it off.
Today on legs, had trouble with my stiff-legged deads due to my trap muscle acting up. My back is still toast from monday as well...the entire week for that matter!!! My job had a lot to do with that also, I've been pretty busy thank God. I can actually afford protein powder this week, sweet!!! Anyway, I began the workout today with SLDL's. 405 felt like crap on my back and traps so I dropped to 365 and got 12. At that point, I figured I'd be better warmed up so I tried the 405 again and when I got to 6 reps things started to get uncomfortable. I miss a few months ago when I was up to 495 for 6 reps on my stiff's. It's just my body being burned out, stress, life outside the gym, and stuff that's postponing my training goals...I'll come back strong again! Leg Presses went fantastic! I did an unwrapped warm-up set with 22 plates for 12 reps, and then did 3 main sets. I wanted to try and do the movement with my feet close to really hit the outer sweep. I did 24 plates for 12 reps on the first set, but felt a little discomfort on the knees. Second set I wrapped the knees and went up to 26 plates, and got 12 reps again. Then for the grand finale, I took it up to 28 plates and busted out 10. I probably could have gotten two more reps, but I gotta be careful with that left quad of mine. Speaking of that, during my 2nd set I figured out a way to dodge that nagging pain that I experience during leg presses...slower and still pushing against the platform as I descend with the weight. Usually, I tend to just kinda let the weight fall and I don't really keep my quad that tight until I have to drive the weight back up, but this little tweak made a world of difference! I'm glad that I learned this about my leg pressing and what I have to do to work around this thing. Next up was Seated Leg Curls. Got 3 and a quarter for 12 reps, then 11 on the second set. Lastly, some extensions. Did the stack(290)for 12 reps, and then 10. When this workout was all over, I almost fell twice walking back towards the front of the gym. What a day! Can't wait for shoulders/abs tomorrow!!!
I'm off to get my rest so everyone have a good night, great day tomorrow, train hard, and GOD BLESS!!!

I will for sure keep the videos coming in bro. I love the stupid things that morons have the nerve to say, and the ytry to sound like they're some kind of expert. It's very humorous, but it also leaves you going wtf? A lot of stupids out there man!!! Guys with no brainpower.
Wow, Kevin, thanks for the post. Your progress and dedication are an inspiration. Maybe those haters should come over here and see how much effort, work, planning, eating, and training goes on behind the scenes of that 10 second clip.

You don't know how good that makes me feel to read something like this man...I can't thank you enough!!! I bet this type of training and really harnessing the power of your mind as a collaborative effort was a big eye opener, I know it sure was for me! Bodybuilding is so much mental it isn't even funny. When I learned how to tune out everything around me and just see myself, the weights, and thinking only about the muscles working during each set...the results just came pouring in!!! Keep up the great work and thanks again
I would say your one of the most freakiest guys on the forum, don't ever take that crap from others. You know exactly that it comes from jealousy. Keep going strong and make a huge name for yourself. Are you ever going to compete?
BTW - I checked some of your earlier MAX-OT workouts where you took out squats.... how hard was it to get back to your squat after the max-ot routine was done? thanks

Far from it, but I really appreciate that man! I've been giving this spring/summer 2010 show a serious thought. The nice thing about it for me is that I'm always lean year round, so that will make contest preparation that much easier. I never go into the double digits with bf%, even if I do eat 2 of my favorite cheat meals a week...large pizza in one sitting lol.

Pshhh, even then they'll still flap their gums. People just automatically assume that muscle cannot be built without steroids. BULL****!!! Here's a great quote from one of my favorite movies:

It took a good month or so before I got comfortable getting under a bar with 500 pounds on it for squatting. Looking back at those workouts now, I really don't know how the hell I was squatting over 500 for reps man!!! Well ok, it was how connected I was with my mind and the exercises. Over the past few months I've been through a lot mentally, both with my leg training and my girlfriend...My progression in strength was steadily increasing on those squats, but it wasn't translating into my legs. That right there is making things incredibly difficult for me when I get under a bar to squat. Lately, I'm making much better gains without squats. I do miss loading the bar up and squatting, but that mind-muscle connection with that exercise for me is just not there anymore, which has caused major sufferage to my squats. I have to overcome this!
Man Kev, you the man and everything.....but damn, that singer is god awful. What the hell is he saying? It's like he's dying on the mic.
hahaha that's the one thing that people can never get used to with this genre of metal is the vocals. It's supposed to sound like that because of how aggressive and heavy the music is. Try putting a pop singer or someone of that nature with a soft voice over that, jsut picture it...would it work? Hell no!!! I've been into death metal since I was 10 years old, it's what made me want to learn guitar. I love the vocals. Anyone who has never taken the time to watch a death metal drummer, guitarist, or bassist play...I'll tell you what, this music is NO JOKE!!!!!!
