zinc supplement as a muscle builder?
Ive been reading and apparently zinc is essential for test production and tissue repair.
http://www.smawg.com/boostingtestosterone.html
It is found in high levels in red meat which would explain some of the theories that red meat is a "better kind" or protein.
Would it be a worthy investment to get zinc supplements? It honestly seems like it would make more sense than buying "test boosters" or whatever bs supp is out.

OP honestly zinc is one of the few vitamins I take religiously. I find it to be great for the immune system and it helps me sleep. I like to take it maybe an hour before bed (or immediately before bed).
Ever since I started taking zinc regularly I find that I have not been nearly as susceptible to colds. Knock on wood... been taking zinc for about a year now.
As for it's muscle building properties, I can't provide any anecdotal evidence... I take it for the immune system enhancement alone... anything else is just gravy.

this!
and Op, if that's too pricey, just hit up a local shop, see what they have in smaller count bottles and give it a shot. stuff's cool though. just get it from any reliable manufacturer. also seems to help my recovery time after tough workouts.

I take 50mg before bed every night. Not ZMA, just regular zinc. Cost me like $7 for a bottle. I can tell it's working. I sleep better, get boners like I'm 17 again...

Also, do you take it with magnesium and vitamin b?
On an empty stomach or with food?

My conclusion is that this website is not reliable:
One example, (not going to quote the entire site since there are numerous examples)
"Recent studies suggest that boosting testosterone levels could be as easy as adding more zinc to your diet, or by taking zinc supplements."
Anyone can write, "experts say..." and "studies show.." but what studies and experts? I would not immediately trust this site though I assume you verified most of it since you are using as a source or at least educated yourself from more reliable sites or articles. There are no sources listed for his conclusions and you know better than me to NOT assume something is correct because it "makes sense" lol.
I will admit that some things seem correct or on the right track but it would be nice to know where he got his information.

Supplementing zinc won't boost testosterone unless you are zinc deficient. In which case ...eat steak. Are you vegan?
Taking an excessive amount of heavy metals is a good way to blow up your toilet with diarrhea.

Here is a .gov site. Those are usually legit and its banner states it is a service of, "U.S. National Library of Medicine, and the National Institutes of Health".
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/t.../htm/index.htm
This should help you brah and others.
EDIT: its a graphic tutorial. Better than reading a long article

Is it possible to 'od' on zinc?
I take the zinc pills, I once took 3 at once and felt like my body was being ripped apart in a black hole.

Yea, it's been better since I've been taking it. I forget what dosage and I'm not sure if it's a direct contributor but my acne has improved.
