MISC Contacts wearing bros. HOW DO YOU GET THEM IN!?
I have pretty poor vision by even wearing my badass rayban glasses I feel beta. I never wear them out and I never recognize people when they see me out. It makes me look extremely stupid.
I'm looking into getting contacts again today at my checkup.
I tried once and I have the worst time getting them in. My eyes tear like hell. I'd literally rather be punched in the face then do it.
What the trick? I know how do do it. But how do i get over the fear.
Nurses were straight laughing at me last time lol. Sheet sucked....

Hard or soft lenses? I'm guessing hard, since your eyes didn't like them.
Go soft lenses, can barely feel them.

^this. Takes time to get the hang of it, I think most people react the way you did at first. I use my middle finger to hold my bottom eye lid down, the lens on my index finger and just slide it on there look around and the eye kinda positions it in place.

its normal to blink and tear up putting contacts in for the first time. a few practices putting them in and it be easy as piss and you wont even need a mirror.

There is no easy way, you just do it and eventually get used to it.
First time ever took me a few minutes each eye, they where red as hell and irritated afterwards. But within a few days I could put them in and take them out in a second. Some people get the hang of it right away, some people it takes a couple weeks. Just make sure your eyes/lens are not dry when you put them in. It also depends on your eyes/lens too. My left one is a bit thicker and larger than my right one.

Sounds like you just need to get over your anxiety. Do you use a mirror so you can see what you are doing?

ya its hard as fuk at first. but just like the other person said just get it on one finger and hold your eyelids open. and make sure its not inside out, even tho you will be able to tell once you get it in cause it will hurt and not go on your eye right. But after like a week or two it will literally take you seconds to put them in.

I think I should get drunk before I try to put them in haha. I have huge anxiety problems with touching anything to my eye.

I know but I have to do this. I'm too embarrassed to wear my glasses so i just rock the 5hitty vision. I need to sit down and like touch my eye all day with clean hands to get over it.

Just make sure when your putting them in to NOT LOOK AWAY. I ruined so many contacts and messed up my eyes so bad. And even though everyone else is doing it, dont leave them in for weeks at a time. I had infections in both my eyes and i distorted my right corena. Just blink like 10 times then take the contact out of solution, gently hold eye open, then lightly place contact on eye and shut it. Just practice, but make sure your hands/contacts/eyes are clean!!!

they're called glasses son. get them.
if you honestly think it looks cooler to walk around not recognizing anyone than to the wearing glasses and knowing whats goin on---> wrong.
but really it takes everyone a long time to get them in for at least a few days. but as you get used to it, it starts to take less and less time.

Put lens in palm
Clean with solution
Shape lens into oval
Place lens on index finger
Open eye with opposite index finger and thumb
Place contact on eye
blink 3 times
Profit

i can imagine how it would be weird if you've never done it but i've had contacts since 5th grade so putting them in/out is like instinct by now, you just get used to it

Takes a bit of time to get used to but once you get the hang of it, its not a big deal.
Personally, I use the ring finger? (One next to the pinky) to hold my eyelid open by just pressing down on the skin below the eye. Then I use my pointing finger to put the lens in or pointing finger + thumb to remove.
So you don't look so beta next time you may want to work on your reaction. Just wash your hands, and practice gently poking your eye, (I'd poke the white part). You need to suppress the natural urge to shut your eyelids when your finger comes near.

**** the contacts. Why the hell are you embarassed to wear glasses? That's, shockingly, more laughable than your fear of wearing contact lenses.

I look like a tool most times when I wear them. Unless I have the right outfit to comliment them. (no homo). Theyre brown or tortoise shell or we so i have to dress like an indie bro if I want to pull them off.
Idk dude I just hate them. Hard to explain.
Plus I got in a fight 2 years ago that bent the bridge of my nose(unnoticeable) (beat the **** out of the kid) It makes all glasses I wear cockeyed.

1. Call insurance company to see if they cover part of laser vision surgery
2. Save money
3. Get laser vision surgery
4. No more contacts
5. Break even or save money over lifetime with money saved on contacts/glasses/solutions/etc
6. Realize how much of a pain in the ass contacts really are

I would like to seriously thank all the misc bros that helped me out in this thread. I just got back from the Optometrist. Some sexy nurse helped me put them in, and although my eyes feel rubbed raw and like an AC is blowing on them, I CAN SEE. Thanks again guys. The misc is good for something afterall.
