pardon me for being uneducated on posting pictures...
but I'll try
here are my legs when I used to wake up and run 6 miles a day as a D1 xc runner...
here are my legs after squatting
cross country never made my legs big in any way, however it did make them strong so when I did start squatting I was started at a very decent weight for a girl... but def never made them big. and the before pic I also had "thunder thighs" for a cross country runner, but everyone has thunder thighs compared to a xc runner.

What was the point of this thread? Yeah there are some xc runners who have big legs, yeah they probably squat as well as run. During my xc season I ran over 4 miles a day did i squat? Not really, but my legs are pretty strong from running hills all day. Also unless you were the fastest guy outthere and could run a 15 or 16 min time you werent gonna make it so xc was just to keep us in shape for other sports.
Cliffs
Yes some have big legs
Yes some squat
Yes Most do other sports other than xc
Yes this thread is pointless. Strain on muscle=growth
<just so ya know xc runners run a 5k so that about 3.1 miles they are not marathon runners>

Most runners eat to be light for running. They don't meet any conditions to get big, and don't need to be for their sport.

When i was at high school there was a kid who literally won the cross country annual school run for 3 years straight, and he was stick thin like 140lb if that. JS

That doesn't even make sense as an excuse. No career is going to bash you for having a picture similar to what the rest of us have. I've never heard of a career where bodybuilding would get you to lose the job. And if you actually compete, people take pictures of you, etc.
That's a ***gy excuse, crypt0d. Sorry.

Again,I wholeheartedly think that's just not true. show me one xc runner that doesn't have small legs.
Just one. Then I'll believe you.

I have, including a timed 20 mile in 2:03 after consecutive training runs (i.e. zero taper). I was 147 pounds at my current height. My legs were never 'big'. I may have thought they were at the time, but I know for certain they weren't.

You stupid brah? I'm saying the guy isn't an XC runner. I'm an elitist when it comes to sports -- to earn the title of being a <insert sport>er you have to be dedicated, and spare nothing when you're prepping and competing. The guy's running around an XC course, yes, but he's doing it in a t-shirt and a pair of ASICS that look like the Nimbus. Not an XC runner. He's there casually, good for him...but he's not a "true" (for lack of a better word) XC runner. I can run every day, but it doesn't make me an XC runner.
I don't consider, nor call, myself a bodybuilder.
That aside, 1) the girl's legs are not big 2) her right leg is obviously flexing as a result of her push-off and 3) she has a left leg **how convenient** that shows her legs aren't big.

i am not arguing that squats arent better for muscle gains. what i am arguing is that squats place more stress on you legs than any amount of running.

They aren't necessarily making **** up, but they are known for skewing their statistics and data to read what they want it to.

You mean the research that conclusively proved that ZMA was AT LEAST 12000% more anabolic than M-Drol were skewed to represent the interests of the party that commissioned the study!?!
Mind = Blown!

Thats pretty much exactly what I said on page 1. My words were "I don't think running any distance will equal the amount of stress that squats place on your legs."
And you argued about that, and now you change your mind? lol
