Haven't checked in here for a while but things are still going pretty well. Was my bday last week so the beers, steaks and all that other tasty stuff didn't really help my weight loss! I managed to break the 300lb mark though which was a nice little milestone!
Time to kick my ass back into gear though!

I had a good bicep and back work out today.
Felt heaps good straight after it but now im feel sore.
Hate working out during your lunch hour and then getting to work with no energy in the afternoon.

Hey everyone, wanted to check in! I'm battling a virus on my computer and I've spent HOURS since Saturday researching and trying to remove it without reformatting my whole drive..ugh I've run anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-malware programs but it has infected a couple of places that can't be removed, otherwise the computer won't work. It also seems to re-infect more files when it's on.
At this point I'm backing up stuff I want to keep and may reformat.
So far doing great on workouts, diet not too shabby, will update mini-challenge tomorrow. Off to bed, A.M. cardio again tomorrow!

One week I was completely bed-ridden and the other two weeks I was still way ill. Last week I took off just to make sure I was totally recuperated. I'm ready to give it another go now.
So, how do you feel about me jumping back in? If not, I will wait until the next one. It would feel good to be back in the group and start hammering out the results again. Let me know how you feel about it. To all of you in here who know me, WHASSSSSSSSSUP???

Heyyyyyyyyyy! Of course, just jump right in. We don't kick people out here lol plus you had started a challenge that had basically branched off from our original one, it was great that there is another one going for those who had enough of cutting(gawd knows I have..lol). It's up to you what you want to do. If there was only a month left I'd say wait but there is still plenty of time to the new year.
Sorry to hear you were so sick, hope it's not anything too serious...that's a long recovery.

Thanks. I figured you wouldn't mind.
Well, it started out as the flu, then I got strep throat and then it was a respiratory infection and now it's just a nagging cough that keeps lingering. I'm well enough to be working out though. Just wish I could stop coughing.

I'm a little late on this, but I actually started my own program at the beginning of October, so I know my exact progress:
10/12: I weighed in on my scale at home at 224.8 lbs.
11/10: My weight this morning was 214.6 lbs.
I was actually at this weight over a week ago, but after losing about 9ish lbs in a hair over 3 weeks, I decided to be a little more normal for a week....than and we went home to visit family, plus I had 3 different suppliers take me out to lunch last week. Managed to eat reasonably healthy and maintained the approx. 215 level.
My overall stats:
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 214.6
Fitness plan: Work out for 15-17 minutes on the elliptical in the a.m. before work. Due this to loosen up before work (had back surgery a hair under 3 months ago) and to burn a few calories. In addition I started P90X last night. Been doing lighter lifting the last few weeks, but I'm very careful with my back.
Supplements: Using some Advocare products right now, but in a few days will be switching to Animal Pak and fish oil. Have a variety of meal replacement bars from a few different brands to make eating multiple meals easier. In addition, have EAS Whey Protien from Sam's that will be using.
Goal: Around 200 lbs by Xmas. Be at a 36" waist at that point. I've had two major wakeup calls recently
Late July, 2009: Had a blood test done at work...had awful results. Cholesterol of 255 and triglycerides that were off the chart. Scared the crap out of me, and I had full blood work done up as part of a physical. Cholesterol was actually 211 (still not great) and triglycerides were 250ish. Turns out drinking semi-heavily the weekend before had a major effect on the tests.
August 20th, 2009: Had a partial diskectomy (arthroscopic) to cut off a bit of a disc that was protruding on the nerve. Thanks to fast reactions by my local doctor and neurosurgeon, I was basically back to normal 8 weeks after I had major symptoms. Could have tried therapy, but the neurosurgeon said the disc was badly ruptured and eventually I'd have to have it done. Not great timing since we had just had our 2nd child 8 weeks before that.
Annnnyyyyways, I'm really motivated and want to start thinking "slender." I don't want to be one of those people who ignored the wake up call. I want to be able to play basketball again without having my feet hurt (have really, really high arches) next summer.

well your going to get hot/warm when doing cardio and if you dont liek it then stop doing the cardio and eat a little bit less... it will make up for not doing cardio... cardio is not needed but only a tool that will help speed up fat loss..

got on the scale today and weighed 259 lbs, which is down 3 lbs from Tuesday of last week. Since Oct. 1, I have dropped a total of 12 lbs so far. My goal is to weigh 247 lbs by Christmas. This will give me a total loss of 50 lbs since May.

My apologies. I had to edit this note I wrote because I got confused and thought it was in my thread, lmbo.
Wake up call? Yup, I know what thats all about. Just get that attitude "My Minds Made Up" no turning back. Move on from one plan to the next until you find one that suits your needs and keep on putting one foot in front of the other.

Gonna go do a p90x video or something. Probably gonna do Cardio X. They need a full body routine instead of just a bunch of split routines, but I guess I'll make my own.

Did some cardio today. 2 miles. One word... endorphins!
Lately, something really weird is happening. People have been telling me stuff like, "Holy **** dude, you lost so much weight!!" or "Wow, you lost so much weight, hope you're keeping well" Lol!!
The problem is not the compliments or negativity... I take em all in my stride. Compliments are awesome and negativity is misinformation as far as I'm concerned. The problem is I still feel big. I feel like I haven't made enough progress, I feel wide. I still see me as fat in so many pictures. I don't understand it. When I was huge, lol, I knew it, but I didn't pay enough attention.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
I know I still have a long way to go and always have my eye on the ball. I know where I want to be and know that I'm working towards. Slowly.. but surely! I'm motivated enough to get there and I will get there. Nothing can stop me from that.
So my advice for the day is... Enjoy the little things

I wonder how people with physical jobs track calories. My job feels like an eight hour cardio session and I'm more than likely not eating enough.

Enjoy the little things

ahaha the same here, the thing is that when we were fat, huge we didnt even care about our bodies, thats all about it....but this takes time, patience....it may take 2 months, 6 months or a year, but it must be done, PATIENCE
I feel really REALLY proud of myself after mmm all my life maybe....the thing is that after lifiting and running 4 miles yesterday I was hungry, ate more than I should, and for breakfast I didnt have my usual breafkfast...I ate like 700 calories of **** (sweets, candies,a donnut) and in the way to college I was so hungry I decided to buy a lot of food (sick e?) but instead of buying more BAD CARBS I had a gallon of water, Im starting over, nothing huge but for the first time ever I control those cravings...hope everyone is doing ok, good luck

Going to refocus my efforts on fat loss once again. I've slacked off from a) lifting weights and b) tracking calories. I haven't gained/lost weight and am steady at 177-179. I have been doing a lot of running lately and am up to just about 5 miles in under 45 minutes which pleases me.
So, I plan on:
1. tracking my cals once again in fitday
2. try to get in at least 3 weight training sessions a week.
3. run/cardio no less than 3 times/wk.
Goal is to still get down to about 10-11% bodyfat and damn does it become difficult at about the 14-15% mark.

I'm still training hard and watching the diet.
Noticeable difference in the mirror and my clothes are all looser, some fitting no longer and I'm back into others that used to fit.
Still need to remember to weight myself at the gym next time I am there.
Monday was chest and arms followed by 25mins swimming at LISS.
Yesterday I did 20mins HIIT.
going to do some kettlebell rounds tonight and then training.
