Yes sir, and their beer isn't bad either!
When I go back home I'll be getting the chimay set [glass, one of each brew] the duvel set [750ml bottle + glass (best glass ever) ].
Gift sets are awesome
Can't wait for the chalice though, so I can start drinking BA's.

Im stoked for this, itll be distributed in January
Avery makes my favorite stout, Czar, and even their bargain stout is better than most and its like 7 bucks for a 6er

I didnt know Avery hyped stuff really, I actually have no clue if they are popular outside of my area. Other than fat tire, and Dales Pale i really have no clue of what is big outside of my state, regarding the breweries within my state. That would certainly be cool if Avery is popular though, as they are the best brewery in colorado bar none.
I especially dont know which ones go to Canada.
Unless, you are referring to my hype. I am the best hype man of all time, I tought Flava Flav everything he knows. Im the Flav and Avery is my Chuck D.

Ah, read a couple articles on it and they made it seem to be hype. Then again it could be just the bloggers.

I thought the DFH labels where cool. Not amazing or spectacular in any sence, but it's unique and they stick to it. No clue waht lagunitas looks like.
DDC has awesome artwork though.

i do kinda like this one
as good as any other sweet flavored porter, whether it be vanilla or what have you
certainly not one of their best brews, but it is a really good cheap brew (IIRC it was 8$ for a6er)
I sometimes do this one when i choose to "create your own 6 pack" because i do like it, but couldnt imagine drinking more than one as it has kind of a candy taste to it.
ive only once had a flavored porter that didnt taste of candy, and it was at a microbrewery who only sells at their restaurant, doesnt distribute.

Black Tot? What are the specs on that one? I think I will be giving the Czar a go this yr. It sounds promising.

XMas Gift
Awhile back my brother mentioned that he was stashing some bombers to drink later.
So I thought, hey, GREAT idea for an XMas gift... and I can buy some for me too!
So far, I've picked up Samichlaus, Trappistes Rochefort 10, and 120 Minute Dogfish Head IPA for his and my starter sets.
I plan on making a "log" book where we can write bottle and tasting info down, etc, but I doubt he'll use it. Hopefully I'll use mine.
Anyway, any recommendations to add to the starter kits?

nope, I bought them all at Whole Foods >.< and probably overpaid a pretty penny, but it was impulsive. eh, it's christmas time.
he prefers wheat or hoppy beers. from what i've read, neither does very well in storage, so he'll have to deal with what I get! lol.
i've seen a lot of people recommend bells expedition and founders breakfast stout, but those seem too "normal" for me to put into his gift. when I start building mine up, i'll probably add stuff like that to my stash just because it will be interesting to see how some of my everyday favourites mature.
at this point i'm really looking for 1 or 2 more types to add to the gift. it's getting expensive, so 1 or 2 more highly recommended, not every-day drinks, would be appreciated!
*edit* now that I look at internetwines.com, Whole Foods is (surprisingly) cheaper... I'll definitely use it as a reference though!

DFH 90 min is better than the 120. Sierre Nevada Estate and Wet Hopped Harvest are great. Arrogant Bastard would be a good choice. Double Bastard would be better.

The gift is for cellaring, not for drinking right away. We have 90 minute on tap here year round. I saw the Sierra Nevada's at the store, and the labeling is nice, but I read that beer should be above 10% abv to store nicely, and also that hoppy beer doesn't store well either. Arrogant Bastard is another beer we grab 6 packs of regularly, though the Double Bastard did look promising (besides beejis' bad review!).
I got impulsive and just ran up to the store and picked up St. Bernadus ABT 12 and Chimay Grand Reserva. And also a Stone Vertical Epic for myself. Maybe I'll add a few more still...

So I went to the store to buy the gift packs and the manager tells me they are in the back on skids and that they will be stocked monday
Seriously?! C'mon now!.,

Eh I think the DDGA is a hit more miss, just like the 120min. All in all beer is very subjective.
You have a nice list of belgians for cellaring! I'd suggest finding Unibrioue's line. They are out standing. Also, winter ales like Fuller's Vintage is supposed to be lovely after 4 years in the cell.

Not sure yet. It started on Super Bowl Sunday 3 yrs ago. 2010 will be yr. 4. For some reason back in 2006 it was the last bottle left over. I already have the crew ready to pounce. It will be me and 3 other beer bro's. I also have 4 bottles of 2 yo Westvletern 12.
