LoL I like it made me giggle. If you got 17's and **** I must have 25inchers at least.

and you can only go so far being natural dude. Use your head for a second and stop using that natural defense bull**** it means nothing when in context with bodybuilding.

you dont think it means anything? I mean it does. I dont care if you use (you in general) my only problem with people who use is when they try to pass off to others that they dont. Especially to those who are just starting out who don't know the differences. The IFBB has ****ed up the sport of bodybuilding it is no longer about working out to look good and keep oneself healthy it is a drug induced sport that everyone including the the DEA chooses to ignore. Anyone with descent genetics can go far on roids its the freaks who dont care about what happens to them as long as they win, pushing the limits with roids getting bigger phucking up americans who actually want to be like them only to be let down when they find out roids are behind their freaky mass. So one of two things happen they use and breed another generation of frauds or...they realize that this sport is false that it is built on lies and choose to have integrity within themselves and choose to be natural. Muscles are kool but it isn't everything big guys cant move as well and their cardio blows but there are very few that prove all of that wrong and the naturals in this condition are the true freaks of nature. The IFBB they are true freaks of drug use.

i see it and for those who choose to use and want to know what their limits are that's on them i dont care. It's the deception that they want everyone to believe in. That's the problem I have. I wonder some times that if I was on that **** i'd be a monster i gauge that on my success personally as a natural. But I just choose not to.

Well, it's not that easy. Many seem to think that the drugs will turn them into a "monster" but there is a lot more to it. Just saying.

I do agree that there is some degree of deception, but that can be said with many things in our lives. Really gotta filter through the BS and make educated decisions and form educated expectations with the facts.

I mean you said anal sex is great and now go ahead and try to deceive us by saying you never got shiit on your diick. HAHA

Telling the truth about illegal drug use is touchy because it is illegal. It's much better in this case to be selectively honest, but I see what you're saying and I'll agree.

Know though, that simply putting a needle into your body is just the beginning. It's not magic beans or something...lol.

We were all blessed naturally with varied levels of competence, genetic prowess, etc. While we all have the same intense desires to achieve....

Never in my life have I had the flexibility to do a-t-g squats in anything even resembling "proper" form. I suppose I could put a block of wood under my heels, but the purists would still have a problem with that. I'm going with what works for me these days, and seeing as how my "weak" points are quads and hams from not doing squats in a way that ever benefited the muscle groups I actually wanted to work on, then I guess I'm right in using box squats to shore up my weak points, lol!
Anyway I remember a guy in high school--the coach's son, in fact--who did pretty much nothing but box squats for his legs, and his legs were MASSIVE. And he was using at least around 500lbs (he'd have 4 of us spot him, 2 per side). I wish I had pix, but if any of the atg purists were to see how well developed his legs were from doing box squats, I somehow doubt they'd be pushing their theories on *him*...
All i know is if he's doing squats for a sport, box squats don't help him at all. he has little power out below that motion. Hope he doesn't play football.

OP stick to what your doing listen to some of the advice on tweaking your form and you'll be doin great. Nice Job.

I think you could go a bit deeper. Your dead lifts are textbook, I think you should focus on doing the same thing with your squats.

Either way a squat's a squat, and those were good... I would just try to go a little deeper. Maybe do triples with 315 for multiple sets or something and get the feel of really activating glutes and hams on the way out of the hole.

Nice video, though. Keep up the hard work.

Props.

I injured it last year (right knee) doing 315 x 4 ATG. On my last rep, I felt a pop and crashed the weight on the rack...

Following 2 weeks I couldn't walk.

Went to go see a doctor, told me I'd need surgery. I researched and refused to set myself up for a knee replacement later on in life.

Started walking, trained legs by doing elliptical on heavy resistance.

Advanced to leg press, then hack squats, then lunges, then LIGHT squats. Took me a whole year to get back up to 315, but now I am happy I passed my previous 315 x 4 PR.

So yeah, that's why I don't go ATG anymore. The whole ATG thing is great, but around these forums it's more so of a stupid phrase people throw around to see who is more "alpha" or something. "Oh you have to go ATG or it's not a real squat!". Get the **** outta here..lol. Take one look at my quads and tell me parallel is not good enough.

I'm not saying that ATG causes injury- all I'm saying is that when I was doing it that way, I must have misplaced my foot, or tipped a little or something, which caused me to strain my meniscus and tear it. So for ME, I won't be doing ATG anymore since I believe I am more prone to injury in that position.

your back remains straight which is pretty good. i agree with some of the other posters that the bounce at the top isn't very helpful.
have you tried doing squats without locking your knees at the top? the burn is much more intense and i feel that it puts more stress on the muscle fibers. but it is necessary to reduce the weight

Hey man, I totally hear where you are coming from. Sorry to hear about the injury and everything, that's a major set back. Glad to see you are recovering from it, though.

Regarding what is bolded, I totally agree. If something that's considered truth by many just doesn't work with your body mechanics, for whatever reason, and wound up leading to injury, there's no reason to keep doing it. Do what works for you, really.

I just hope you didn't take what I wrote the wrong way. You asked for critique, I gave you my opinion, and hopefully it didn't come off as too harsh.

Keep on truckin, bruddah.

I only do ATG with 225 and below, and thats because i need more explosion out of the blocks (100 meters runner). A good form parallel squat is definately good enough.
