Leg Workouts make my body cringe
OK, I am in the boat with everyone else here, I hate leg workouts... but, I am not sure its for the same reason as everyone else.... My body just seems to break down when I do leg workouts, especially if I end up targeting more than one muscle group of my legs within a 2-3 day span.
Sometimes I get sick and other times I just get extremely lethargic. Its very annoying! I mean, I want to work out legs more, but I don't have time to be sick or so tired that I don't/can't get my work done...
There has to be some tips here, what am I missing? I guess I don't workout legs that often, and maybe more often would help, but I don't work them out all that hard either, I have learned from that mistake. But, even the light workouts test my limits quick...
Any and all tips much appreciated!

if we were working together and you were saying words like sick and lethargic, i'd be looking at a whole lot of other stuff with you besides your legs routine like
diet,
rest/quality of sleep
recovery in workouts
general back off strategy
stress
legs may just be a symptom of general fatigue: they're the biggest muscles so working them is potentially going to amplify what else is going on.
so rather than focusing on legs, i'd pull up a few thousand feet to understand the whole picture.
best

If youre sick then youre most likely eating too soon before the workout. As for lethargy, maybe its sleep maybe its an undiagnosed medical issue.

i would agree with serious diet issues. i love leg day, one of my favorite days. its what seperates the men from the boys, and woman from the girls.

I must be an exception as I enjoy working legs and back most, two body parts many people don't like working out.

I'd bet that you're not eating enough, especially before you workout!

Are you sleeping/eating properly, prior to your leg day?
Eat lots of carbs before you lift.

I am pretty sure its not an eating issue, I have had this problem for quite a while and its def not a sleep issue. Its just like my body gets overloaded by the intense workout...

Don't assume that everyone has the same outlook on leg training as you. They don't.
You state that your problem isn't based on eating, so that leaves only the mental aspect of training. Either find a way to at least tolerate training your legs, or just don't train them. Don't know what else to tell you, except that not everyone is suited to weight training/bodybuilding, any more than everyone is suited to playing football, or basketball, or even high-stakes poker.

Ok, I feel I need to clear some things up...
1. I don't hate training legs bc it's too hard or I dislike it! It's bc my body gets really worn down.
2. My legs are already fairly developed.
3. I feel great right after and during a leg workout even til the next day.
The problem lies in about 24-36 hours after a heavy leg workout. I generally get really tired and lack motivation and energy and even get sick sometimes, which I beleive to be a direct result, it's just been too coincidental to not be related.
If you have any ideas I would appreciate it. Otherwise, just STFU. Thanks

If this remark was directed at me, I'm not here to hold your hand. You asked a direct question, and I gave a direct, honest answer. The problem is yours, not mine; it's up to you to make the necessary changes to implement progress.

STFU..... from what i've seen most people are attempting to help with your issue questioning your diet etc. You also made a ridiculous comment which indicated that all people hate training legs. From your attitude its probable that it could be your mental state that is causing this....?

Face it, some people are more cut out mentally and physically for things like knitting or stamp collecting.

....seems like the timeframe you have for being sick is the same time frame for me where the soreness sets in and I have to fall 3 feet onto the bowl to take a dump. I usually love that feeling. Are you sure you're not just being a suck?

6 ft 171 lbs with fairly developed legs?i think not. ive got 40 lbs on you and i am just starting to consider them "developed"
the reason you cant handle leg day is because youre not giving your body enough resources. you can kill it with an awesome leg routine, but if you are killing it and not reviving it then youll always feel like crap. guarunteed.

Well, I am no 171 anymore, closer to 180 now, and my body fat is very low, so, yes, fairly developed.
The "STFU" wasn't pointed at anyone in particular, but there were a slew of comments like, "of, I love legs, you're being a sissy, I am a he-man leg machine"... That doesn't offer any help.
I am not trolling, I am seriously looking for some advise, but people would rather bash it seems. Thanks.

LOL, Sam, I mean, don't get me wrong, the falling 3-feet to the toilet bowl is def part of it and while that does suck a bit, thats not the problem... I just get really tired and lack motivation. I still get my **** done, but its not enjoyable like it usually is... I can just tell my body is struggling a bit... Now, how to mitigate this, thats my question... or do people just be a bit more tired?

I'm not even really sure bro. Maybe eat more and get more rest, since the legs are one of your biggest muscle groups and maybe it's just taxing your system too much.
