Cutting off circulation on purpose during workout
Well today I was working out, and this guy that I always see in the gym had like a stretchy band that he wrapped around his arm while doing his triceps workout. I asked him what the point of cutting off the circulation was for and he said its a method that is popular in Japan that makes the body go into a shock and trick your body into releasing more HGH. Anyone hear anything about this?

He got this from an article published in the recent issue of "Muscle and Fitness." Yes, it is a prevalent training method in Japan. Feel stupid now?

I actually want to take that link down cause I dont wanna be responsible when some jackass' leg falls off cause they tried to do this way before they were ready.... meh
If you try this, don't. But if you MUST try it, read the article about 8 times, use common sense, be very careful, and DONT use maximal weights. The article says about 30-50% of your 1rm, I'd stay on the lower side of that for 10-12 reps.

Nah trust me, I'm not that stupid. I don't plan on trying it ANY time soon, there is no need for me to considering there are so many more "normal" work outs/training methods I still haven't tried. But if you want to take the link down, I'll unquote it aswell.
And not to brag, but I modestly believe I have a pretty high level of common sense, so I don't think cutting off the circulation to a point of losing a limb/etc would be a problem.
