I'm not going into my situation because it's not important to this thread.

But no matter if she/he has been with 1 guy/girls or 50 guys/girls, was a druggie, a cheater, a criminal, etc whatever.

How did you overcome their past?

I didn't overcome it. I kept it in the back of my head which prevented me from getting too attached which saved me from getting mind****ed.

Its alright to get a bit of an idea about a partner/potential partners past just to make sure they haven't taken a train from a football team or been a street walking meth addicted hooker.
Assuming they have a pretty typical normal past you dont want to know anything more than that, nothing you hear is going to make you happy.

I've got my own past and its just that, lifes too short to stress about things you cant change. Live in the now.

Of course it won't. How a girl acts at 18 is probably completely different to how she'll act when she's 30. Nobody knows what the hell they're doing at 18. That's why teen relationships don't last.

I think if she has been with a lot of bfs and your less than her then it makes a big difference.
Its best not to know. If you know it comes to your mind if she is faithful, since she said yes so many times.
Plus all those things that she has done and had done to her, bothers you a whole lot.
When you walk down the street many guys say hi and whats up to her, and your like wtf?
Takes a lot of love and strength to look passed that.

yep its important to know a persons past. it has a habit or repeating and/or catching up with them.

personally i dont put it out my mind, sometimes they come with a lot of bagage and its whether they can fully deal with and get over it.

I've learned to not ask.... seriously. girls ask me all the time and I answer honestly, and change the subject. all the stuff the halloween girl told me was stuff she volunteered.

just remember that 99 percent of people have something in their past that you won't like.

use your age, expierience, and common sense to dictate what you believe about them and their actions while your involved with them.
its the only fair way to handle it

If you judge one person for there past you are also judging yourself, as every human is a reflection of the same inner divine.

In relationships we should spread joy and love, if there other person is not recpetive, then you have planted seeds within them and move to plant more seeds elsewhere but do not judge the ground in which we plant as we are from that same ground.

A few things.

First off, I can not think of one remotely good factor that can come out of learning about my girlfriend's past. Not one thing. What benefit can you get from learning about who she's slept with? None. You can't.

The only thing that information can do is caused numerous mind****s, various scenarios swarming in your head, and your insecurities/jealousy/interrogations will grow.

It doesn't matter. Logically and emotionally it will cause more harm than good.

Second: The more people you (or her) have slept with, the less you'll care about the other's past. So you were involved in a threesome involving numerous fruits and vegetables, 3 packets of pop rocks, and a 20-inch replica of the Eiffel Tower...6 years ago. Big deal. Your significant other wasn't even a thought during this time of your life. Perhaps your "crazy" days rarely occur and you're enjoying the serene and secure relationship now...so why blurt out your crazy past?

Third: The older you are, the less it matters. Sure when you're a 17 year old virgin, you may inquire about that 15 year old and be shocked that she slept with 4 guys. But when you meet that hot 22 year old, it should be assumed that she's "been there, done that." And you know what? It's not always a bad thing.

Finally: Grow up. You want to know how you're going to truly learn from this? When you lose her. Because when you lose her over something stupid like your insecurities are you going to finally realize, "Wow. That was STUPID of me!" So there you go, OP: If you don't stop over the irrational such as her past (you weren't even a ****ing thought back then) and gain some confidence...

You will lose her.
