I just recently started rowing with an ez bar because the grip is more comfortable than a bb for me. I use a palms facing down grip.

Myself underhand grip is fine with a Barbell, overhand at any width over shoulder width my wrists pop as I get the bar up. The EZ bar has fixed that for me. The angle is much better. Same goes for seated cable rows, the ez cable bar stops the wrist pop.
