yaganon is on a distinguished road. (+10)
I want to get wider with muscles

I'm more muscular than average, but my 6'1 height and the lack of fat cells negates that, so I look like a twig.

I've been lifting on and off all my life, with little results. It's probably because I don't have the genes, and that I use to run cross country and track. I also do a lot of other sports that require a lot of aerobics and sprinting.

I need tips (or even better, specific workouts) that can help me get more muscles above my waist, while not compromising my agility and speed on the fields.

thanks

P.S. I read that Olympic weightlifters build up by working only once or twice every two weeks. They go all out one day, and take 1-2 weeks to recover, since recovery is when you actually build muscles. Is this a more effective muscle building process than to workout everyday or every other day??

try WSFSB, or look into the big program thread im sure they have some football workouts.

WSFSB http://www.elitefts.com/ws4sb/WS4SB.pdf

edit: You sound like a beginner don't do the programs Olympic builders are doing, theres a lot of nuances and particulars you miss and you could potential injure yourself. Work your way up. Just dont start copying the guys who are advanced

Sounds like a classic case of undereating

You need to continuously gain 1-2% of your bodyweight per month - this is how your muscles grow. As for the weight training, choose a program from the sticky threads.
