why arent i gaining weight...
I have been going gym for a while and i did gain abit, i put on 8kilos in 4 months with only like 2% bf increase.
And then it just stopped..
I found out what i had to eat, and i write down everything so i know what im eating each day.
Im probably eating more then i did when i was putting on weight... and now i seem to even be losing weight.. lol.
Ive been looking around and i think to maintain my weight i need just over 2000 calories where i am eating 3200-3500 each day as it is?.. and train 3-4 times a week.
Im 173cm and weight 65kilos, or 143 pounds, so if anyone knows exactly how much i should be eating to gain weight that would be great..

try doing heavier weight and less reps and less cardio
a little list of what you eat wouldn't hurt to add in your post will help everyone see
if you need more of something...

Sounds like you hit a plateau. mix up your routine and try new excercises or different programs to get past plateaus. If youre losing weight then you aren't eating enough...
edit: 143 lbs....I doubt you would have hit a plateau that early....lift harder, eat bigger

idk how fast ur metabolism is, but some people who hav very fast metabolism have to eat 5000-7000 calories, its hard to say what you need to do without seeing wat youre eating and wat your lifting routine looks like

well i wouldnt say losing weight, but i was 65 and then somehow im just 64 now, but thats over a long period of time, just slowly happened..
I eat mostly good foods and do take a protein shake 2-3 times a day.
this is what i ate yesterday, i eat around the same amount of calories per day.
breakfast:
4 weetbix-800kj
orange juice-400kj
smoko:
mother-956kj
egg n bacon mcmuffin-2000kj
lunch:
powerade-900kj
chicken fillet footlong-1420kj
after work:
powerade -900kj
1 cup oats - 1884kj
before workout/tea
protein shake-1000kj
spaghetti-2000kj
after workout:
protein shake-1000kj
mc chicken burger (maccas) (no mao) -1750kj
Its all measured in kilojoules, adds up to 15000, which is around 3580 calories..
I eat this much everyday, im only 19 and 143 pounds lol, so i dont think i should need to eat anymore really...

i would say add some OATS in your protein shakes about 3/4 of a cup with some peanut butter about 2-3 spoons
also switch up your routine in case you hit a plateau which from what i'm hearing you have lol

You probably hit a plateau. I would suggest switch up your routine with diffirent excersies you never tried before and a new rep scheme. Up the calories try to get in 4000.

have 3 1200 calorie meals a day if you want to gain weight, eating more frequently will jack up your
metabolsim, eating 3 huge meals will slow it down if you really want to add weight,
It's what they do with pigs on farms, they feed them one huge meal a day to plump them up

ok now its just weird. i weighed myself everyday in the morning before eating, and slowly went from 65.5 to 63.8, then after 2 days of not eating as much as i was "3500 calories" it just goes to 65.8?
I dont really understand how that works, because i thought i was losing weight, although i was getting some stretch marks in that period of time so i does anyone know why this happens?

Add more good carb sources in your diet, oats, wheat, fruit, lentils, pasta, potatoes etc.
Also switch up your routine, if you have been lifting heavy for a while then drop the weight and go for high reps around 12-15 for a week or two then go back to your normal routine with a little change in exercises and you should be ok. whenever i plateu i change my routine and then im back on track even if my diet stays the same.
good luck

to gain weight you simply need to be eating more calories than your body is burning.. at the moment you are not doing this. therefore you should eat more and you will start gaining again, as your weight increases so does your dietary requirement. eg a 200lbs man will not be able to eat the same diet he was bulking with at 160lbs and still grow at the same rate

Yes it sounds like you hit a plateau. Try bumping up those calories to 4000. Add lots ofs complex carbs in there and more protein, and deff change up your work out sched. Give it time and will deff see your scale go up.

i currently do 10 reps with 3 sets, and usually just make the last rep on the 3rd set for most exercises.
To change up my routine can i just start doing something like 10, 8, 6 reps with more weight then i usually do?
Also, i used to drink alot of milk, like 1-3 litres a day, should i start drinking more milk then i do? because it seemed to work for me before? or will it be bad.. Its low fat milk btw..
By the milk, i should be able to get up to 4000 calories then.
