in an unrelated story, i'm starting a "Group new years resolution: totaling elite in 2010" thread.... we could probably make custom t's for like 10 bucks, and con bb.com into payin for them when you hit the elite total, they are paying for the winner of the virtual powerlifting contest..... why not this

You know you're a powerlifting when...
You hit new PBs, but were annoyed at how hard they were.
Just realised my skills assessment today gave me a new raw paused bench and raw deadlift PB.

lol, i hate that
like you'll hit a massive landmark (5 plate deadlift) then be like "wtf, why arn't i at 6?!!??!!?
You know you are a powerlifter when :
programming has nothing to do with computers
gear has nothing to do with steroids
you always check depth when taking a ****
you see a fat chick and wonder what they can squat
will get more as i think of them

Give me some ideas for a ME bench movement for 2 weeks after I'm done with my pause bench cycle next week. I planned to do incline, but I don't wanna because shoulder issues and all of that homo stuff.

You know you're a powerlifter when you lift weights that are heavy and are fat and bald.

At the risk of sounding like a cliche misc women hater, i have to say there is an awful lot of white knighting in Sons of Anarchy. Not exactly what motorcycle gangs are known for.

I don't think most bikers are as pretty as the guys are on that show either.

Damn it. I need to move to Alaska. Crab is fracking expensive here.
That's right, I cursed in battlestar galactica speak. What are you gonna do about it?

I'd assume so, but his father likes to take videos of him doing things that nobody really cares about. He goes on to brag about his son in pointless threads that he creates. He even has t-shirts with his son's name on them. He likes to call him "BIG D" - the "D" stands for " douche".
Edit:
Btw, let's all send Evolved Athletics some BIG D "fan mail".

my second (and last) post about Big D since I think talking about him's been a waste of time, but -- with the way things are for him now, he'll probably stagnate at around a 1400ish total.
his powerlifting team has an average total of 1100 to 1200, with their strongest member having a total of around 1300. they're all basically a bunch of beginners...how in the world are they going to coach the kid into becoming elite if they're all Class 2/Class 3 lifters?
if I were Big D's dad, i would have done the right thing and hand him off to an elite PL'er/coach. I wouldn't want to be coached by someone who can only squat 300. seriously, a grown man squatting 300 has no business coaching anyone.

God dammit why does arcredabombadillo have to close all the awesome **** storm threads early.
Can you keep them open until I say my witty piece? Is that so much to ask?

Oh crap the "but how old is he kid?"
I feel bad for that kid man, just let him workout and let his numbers do the talking. Seriously do you wonder why Babyslayer has been a major s.hit storm thread on practically every strength training forum on the net? Without him actively going on any forum but this one (and t-nation a bit, but t-nation is lame and doesen't count)?
Because he is impressive as hell, he creates noise. This guy is just banging pots and pans together and bugging the neighbours.
Horrible metaphor.
