those dang 1rm calculators
everytime i use those calculators its always off. my 1rm is always higher than what it says. like deadlifts for example, my 5rm is only 335 but my actual max is 405. and if your anything like me you can triples with alot of weight but when it comes to 4-5 reps...that weight goes down! anybody else like this? can anybody actually use those calculators right?

lol, I gotta ask, why do you need to use an estimated 1RM calculator if you have a tested 1RM?

Those calculators never take into account the nature of the specific lifts and the muscles used (ie, deadlifts have no negative, different muscle groups may be predisposed to doing better at endurance things relative to others, etc). Therefore, they should not be accurate.

For bodybuilders calculators always overestimate (cuz BBers rage in 8-12 reps)
For powerlifters calculators always underestimate (cuz PLers rage in 1-3 reps zone). My real dead max = calculated + 45lbs

My tested 1RM on deads was 32 lbs lower than my estimated. Then again, the numbers I provided were in the 10 rep range.

1 rep max calculators are at best rough estimates based on someone else's ideas and percentages. Your body doesn't know what percents are so how is it going to work in them? I think from 1-3 reps they are somewhat accurate for me but there have been times where I could hit 275x16 on bench but barely get 330 for 1. It all depends on you
