Someone explain this to me: How does Voyager communicate with earth? Waht does it use to transmit pictures and what do we use to receive them? If this works from billions of miles away why don't we use this on earth as a way of communication? Like super wifi or some ****?

This is a Harvard kid's animation of the inner-life of a cell. It always gets me, absolutely amazing. Sorry i don't know how to embed.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVvvx5HGpLg
But watch it and your mind will be blown to bits, it's short too. It's like an entire civilization in there, and that's going on in trillions of cells in our bodies at all moments.
I'm going to start a combined math/physics honours degree next year at an awsome canadian university and hopefully one day become a scientist (srs).

Absolutely. And people think i'm crazy when i tell them i'm going to live past 150 years.
It's 2009 and i'm 28. We are already capable of growing skin cells, in 20 years, whole organs and bone structures.
It's already projected (thanks to parkinson's law) that we're going to be able to build a computer that has the same computing capabilities as the human brain in 2013. That's 4 years.
In 2049, we're going to be able to build a computer with the computing capabilities that will equal every human being on the planet. Add in nanotechnologies and cybernetics, DNA correction and nano-implants that will exceed the limits of the normal, organic human body... Call me crazy but if nothing bad happens to me, i think i'll be immortal, pretty much.

I really hope so. When I really think about it I would really like to live for a very long time/forever to see some incredible things. Just thinking about all those new technologies in that link I posted makes me really excited about the future. This kind of stuff interests me greatly. Probably my favorite thing to read about.

anyone have any new info about... i saw a show on discovery channel where they think they can bring back some dinosaurs OR AT LEAST reverse engineer chicken dna or something and turn them into raptors or a troodon or something. i know they have succeeded in making chickens grow teeth and make them scaly instead of feathered. but that was about a year ago i think.
anyone know what i am talking about?
