Need help and feedback....
I'm trying to compare not only pics but also routine and diet. In keeping detailed info on both, I know what I was doing at both points in time (April of this year and now).
That being said.....which pic appears better to you? I realize that lighting, etc. plays into it.
Thanks for the help!

Lighting, position, angle, and focus make big differences when trying to make comparisons. It is hard to get everything exact but makes it easier to see differences when you keep things the same. The lighting in the bottom picture shows cuts more than the top. Since that is the later picture that is a great thing. It's all smoke and mirrors, lol. Ever go to a store and use their well lit dressing room? It seems you always look way worse in their mirrors than at home.
BTW, you look good in both! Good work.

Thanks Bob!
Totally agree with the lighting point which is why I commented on it in the first post. I'm just to see what people's thoughts are when comparing the two (as best one can given what we mentioned).

The pic angles & lighting do make it tough to tell. You stumbled across one of the secrets of stage posing....LOL
Did you do tape measurements then & now? What say those?

I sure don't take pictures now because I look horrible. When I did I remember overhead lighting seemed to work better for me, no flash on the camera.

Actually no Buck. I didn't. I thought of that today. I have a Myotape so I've done them before. I'll look to do them again.
It's interesting because I was 3 lbs. heavier in that first pic than I am today. Again, I get the lighting issue and all but just thought it interesting the "difference" between the two when I consider the difference in weight.

The "today" pic is easily better, Ed. Your entire upper body is much fuller, especially bi's. No contest between the two pics, IMO.

Like I posted earlier here, the interesting to me at least is that I'm 3 pounds lighter today than I was in the first pic yet I look fuller like you said.
Again....lighting to be taken into consideration.

Good job Ed! You're leaner in the second picture. Your abs are coming in and your face is leaner. Excellent work!

You look much more solid and leaner in the second pic. Bigger muscles and less fat. And great biceps!
Keep it up 'cause it sure as h*ll is working!

Thanks Berg!
Been doing protein/fat for 6 days with a one day (Sunday) refeed of as much as I can take in carbs. Weight will jump anywhere from 5 to 9 lbs. from Sunday a.m. to Monday a.m. It will then drop back down to what I was last Sunday a.m. Been maintaining now at 218 for about 2 months, haven't been seeing loss of strength if you've seen my journal and pics seem to be getting progressively better. I could do much better if I kept the refeed cleaner on Sundays but what fun is that.

IMHO this is not good. Have you considered a less radical approach & a more balanced macro plan? You could still eat bigger on Sunday......but not so drastically.

I guess I'd like to know, in your opinion, what is so bad about it. In researching keto-type diets, refeeds are common weekly and are done so at increased intake of kcals. I worked with a PT, and will be working with again, who does more of a timed carb approach with protein/fat in all meals except for carbs ingested immediately post-workout. This is done only for 6 days with a significant carb refeed on Sundays (my choice of day)
I've tried a more balanceed macro approach and it didn't seem to have the same results.
Seriously Buck.....would encourage your insight for future reference.

I don't know Ed. You seem to have found what works for you for now. I would stick with your plan. It's not so easy to find what works all the time.
