Promised Pics of Recent Power Rack Score and My Garage Gym
I got the power rack put together from the thread "Need help identifying awesome power rack I stole." I got this power rack at an auction for 110 bucks. It was three hours away so I have about 200 bucks in it after renting a trailer and paying for gas to go get it. It's very well used and could use a new coat of paint but It's a beast of a rack with oversized holes and 1.5 inch thick safety pins. I'm also posting pics of my complete garage gym that I've been meaning to post for quite some time. I'm not a very tech savy kind of guy. I don't know how to imbed the pics. If anyone else would like to embed them, that would be great.

I have a lot of cleaning and painting to do on some dumbbells, plates, and several pieces of equipment. I've been buying the stuff and putting the gym together this year. I'll probably start working on refurbing stuff next spring.

I do love the solid steel dumbbells. They're the best IMHO for heavy dumbbell shoulder presses because they aren't nearly as long as pro dumbbells. My 120 pounders in the round head version are even shorter than my 115 hex dumbbells.

Thanks. I'm actually in the northeast tip of Tennessee. I'm about a 45 minute drive from the NC line.

I'm gonna keep it as is for now. Not sure if I'll paint it or not in the future. To be honest, part of the reason I have redundency in my set up like having power racks and dedicated benches is because I'm still thinking there's a small chance I may do something stupid at some point like trying my luck at opening a small, cheap, hardcore gym. I actually have 7 additional pieces of equipment and 3 more weight trees that are not pictured that are in my storage barn. I like my garage gym being ratty looking but if I ever decide I'm gonna take the plunge and open a small gym, I think I'd probably have to paint and refurbish several pieces of my equipment.

well, i would also do that given the chance. that's my dream, too- a small powerlifting and strongman themed gym. i wouldn't mind just having a "lifting club" in a dedicated building.
good luck if you do it!

Sweet setup and great variety of equipment! Personally I'm not sure I would paint anything, I kinda like the 'old school used' look.
