None. Just the state of mind of being okay with screwing people on a daily basis (well I should say helping them screw themselves) and not knowing a fucking thing about cars(I've yet to meet a car salesman than knew anything about anything).

If you're fairly clean-cut and can sell, sure you can.

Believe you need a bachelor's degree in scam artistry or a diploma in douchebaggery.

most car dealers are douche bags now. back in the day a lot of those guys would give their honest opinion and tell you if a car was a piece of **** or not.
i know a bunch of older salesmen that had all repeat customers after a few yrs bc they took care of them the right way.
all the guys now are young and just wanna earn a buck and dont give a **** about being honest. imo

None... I got a job selling BMW's with no experience or business schooling. Go in and be aggressive, tell them you know you can sell these cars and be confident.
BTW.... selling cars sucks. lol

Then you wont be successful as a salesman.
The worst thing about being a car salesman is when the consumer knows MORE than you and stumps you on a question.
"so what engine does this corvette have?
Salesman: I think its a v6 but i have to double check on that.

this, i sold cars for 4 years. at a really huge ford dealership in san antonio.
most of the time its all about luck, you get dumbass customers and agree with everything you say..and its a lay down (easy sale) and then you get the stuck up old people..that takes a week to close em to buy.
pass a drug test, and they throw you out to start selling by yourself..look for a dealership thats commission plus percentages of sales. thats where the cash is at.
all you got to do is..be nice, listen to what they want, tell em to sit down and fill out the application..if they can buy..be even nicer..if they have ****ty credit..brainwash em to get a co-signer..ask if they want a car/truck..take em outside let em pick what they want. and say "ill get you the best deal" WIN.
but that doesnt work all the time..its hard to explain lol.

Just a high school education and some previous work experience in sales....Being a car salesman isnt a job I would want though.
You got pressure on you to sell cars and meet a quota to keep your job...you have to be all aggressive and pushy trying to sell cars to customers.
