I ran into a few gym idiots lately...

- The guy who thinks it's OK to stand up between you and the mirror when you are clearly using it to check your form;

- The guy that talks to you while doing a set and gets pissed because you don't answer him;

- The homos (litterally) using the gym saturday morning to socialize and do a few crunches;

- The guy that makes everybody around him jump because he dropped the heavy dumbells he is using (could actually be dangerous if somebody besides him is doing an heavy set which requires lots of focus).

From what I've read here, this is A-ok. And the heavier the weight you drop, say 450 lbs, the better.

Just be polite. If they have good form in the gym then they probably do some training, if not don't bother because they're just show ponies.
I train at a martial arts gym so there are a few fighters but a few more posers (hey, they keep the training costs low), so when I look for sparring partners I approach the ones who are there consistently and who remain focused with good form.

So many losers at my gym. One thing that has bothered me lately, is cheat curlers. They do the same weight as me cheating as I do with a rigid torso. These guys aren't exactly doing "reverse hang cleans", but they get way too much swing. They then act tough cause they curl as much as me.

A LITTLE swing or momentum is OK, but these swingers ***s me off.

Indians at my gym spot each other on EVERY piece of equipment. On the ****ing cables, one of them will do pull downs while the other lifts the ****ing plates!!! What a JOKE!!! Next to the Asians, most of whom at least are there to do things properly, they are the skinniest pricks in the place. What a waste of time.

I get pissed off at old women hitting the weight machines with 1 plate and they do 10 reps, wait 5 minutes, and repeat. Seriously, if you are over 50 and female, you are wasting your time and mine.

My gym is filled with morons. I cant stand the Russians pumped up on winstrol who act like they own the place, you lost the cold war and your in the USA, get rid of your undeserved sense of pride. I also, on a daily basis, have to deal with 20 year olds wearing affliction or tap out clothing that do nothing but give hard looks, do no work, and take up space. This however pales in comparison to the people who take 2 or 3 sets of dumbells back to a bench or some other area everyone wants to use, sit on there cell phones and do NOTHING but talk on the phone. Get out of the gym if you want to talk on the phone.

If you do any of the following your a gym moron:

-wear jeans
-put 10 plates on a hack sled, do one rep, and leave without re-racking the weights
-have a cell phone with you and are not on an organ transplant list
-give people hard looks
-go up to the dumbbell rack and lift the dbs right on top of the rack blocking everyone from getting dumbbells.
-Sit on the dumbbell racks
-Your workout consists of 50 sets of 50 x 6 days a week of bench press only
-You look at others with disgust when they do less weight but with perfect form
-You take steroids but are too lazy to watch your diet or workout correctly because you think the needle just magically makes you bigger
-You insist on standing next to someone in the locker room while naked with nothing but room around
-You dry your old balls with the gym hairdryer, its a public hairdryer, not a pubic hairdryer
-You fill your 1000oz water bottle up at the taller of the two water fountains

I try and look at the floor and listen to my ipod when i workout yet i still encounter this stuff almost daily.

-the old guy who tries to keep up with the young guys hurts himself and then gets mad

People that always use more weight than they can handle, which is about 80% of the people at my gym. I give props to those who use their handling weight, i do lateral raises with 22lbs/each arm. I see guys next to me using 30lbs and swinging up and down like a bird wanting to take off, they barely get 4-5 reps through.

Same with shrugs, most people can't do them right, i use 75lbs/each arm dumbbells, i see other guys who've obviously never or hardly ever do shrugs try the same weight and lift up on their toes as they try to get their shoulders up...why even bother.

Lat pull downs are hilarious, people want to do the whole stack, so they bend backwards while pullling down on the bar with all their might, apparently it's a good lower back exercise??!!!!/sarcasm

We have all the usual gym idiots at my gym, but i think the biggest idiot is the gym management. If a machine breaks it takes on average 3-4 weeks to get fixed, they dont have a squat rack at the moment so I'm having to use the smiths machine (lucky me!), I'm currently on Mr Rippetoes SS programme so I'm forced to do squats in the smiths. Just before I started the SS programme the machine was out of action for quite a while so I'm dreading the day when it breaks again.

The most stupid thing I've encountered so far happened Saturday. My gym is part of a sports centre so all kinds of activities go on from football to squash. The weights room is located in a room next to the viewing gallery upstairs, there is a room next to it which is separated by a thin partition wall. I've always seen staff having breaks in there and have never paid it much attention. Well on Saturday the room sounded full of people and was very noisy, this didn't really bother me because once I get my ipod on and get into the zone nothing much can distract me. It turns out the noise was a children's party. As I'm squatting around 90kg I look around and there's about 3 toddlers laughing at my strained face! Their parents finally came and ushered them out. But throughout the whole workout I had kids running in and out. Distracting to say the least.

I would say some of the worst gym idiots are the old men in the locker room who walk around with a towel around their neck an blowdry their balls and take up all the sincs shaving(especially when its their chest/back). Or the old guys thaat walk into the stalls and hack up blood an spit on the floor meanwhile they have no socs/shoes on just old ass crusty yellow nails they cut while resting a foot on the toilet seat completely naked, take a **** then leave with no hand washing UGH!

Another one that bothers me is the turds who are about 17-20 come in with their hair all gelled straight guido fist pumper style lookin like they ready for a club an they come in packs of 4 or more take over a whole section an do nothing but chat and talk on they $800 phones while flexing their little biceps in the mirrors looking all smug.
