Something I figured out that I feel will help keep me very motivated.

Well, I was thinking about the choices that i have in life. I could

a) just relax, watch tv, play games, drink, and have an overall amazing time while avoiding as much work as possible in life so i can have as much free time as possible.

or

b) Put the work in, increase my status, increase my confidence by earning the best job I can earn with a sense of significance in the workplace, get as shredded and jacked as i can by putting in the work that it takes, and just overall work in any area of my life that I feel will make me better.

The problem with option B is that I will have a lot less fun time, and the problem with option A is that I won't feel as significant, confident, or as fulfilled. I was trying to figure out the right balance, going back and forth.

But I realized something. If I do option B, those times when I do just kick back and enjoy myself, that moment will be even more special because I have all these things that I accomplished.

Its a sacrifice that we all make to have a better future. The quantity of possible things that you may be doing what you want may be lower when working on bettering yourself, but the trade off is the quality of your free time will increase. I'm not going to say quality>quantity because its not always the case, its for you to decide.

What do you guys think? I know there are more positives and cons for both options. What balance have you chosen?

It's all about balance. Option B obviously is the better choice because, like you said, it will make your "fun time" much more enjoyable. Besides, the feeling of being strong and make strong choices for your own life quality is much more satisfying than drinking, partying etc. and specially the day after.

But, again, in my opinion it's all about balance. Choose the healthy lifestyle cause it will make you feel much better, and take that feeling good with you to the A moments (which you should really keep as a part of your life).

Just my 2 cents..
