Is there a limit to whole eggs as long as you are in a deficit?
If someone ate 10+ whole eggs a day but was still in a caloric deficit...anything wrong as far as nutrition/health goes?

I don't know. I sometimes eat several eggs, if I don't have other protein around. I always keep about 6-8 dozen in the fridge. The most I ever ate in 1 day is probably 36 egg whites and 6 yolks.

Good link about what I mentioned-

Arnie likes them too but you need to remember those guys are old school and we now know things today that they didn't back then. Reg actually mentored Arnie, FYI.

Well, there is a lot of saturated fat and cholesterol in eggs (duh). A few a day, if you have a healthy heart is usually OK. However, if you have had ANY form of heart disease (diabeties, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart attack, stroke, etc), or if there is a history of heart disease in your family, you must be careful. It also wouldn;t hurt to have your blood work and cholesterol levels checked regularly.
I myself have never had heart problems, but my grandfather died of a heart attack, and my other grandfather has had quadruple bypass surgery, so obviously there is a history of heart disease in my family. For this reason, I am careful w/ eggs, red meat and seafood. I definately eat them, but in moderation. Hope this helps.

i average 6 whole eggs/day....i've had 18 whole eggs before...and don't fret the cholesterol, sure eggs are high, but your cholesterol levels are not effected by cholesterol intake, but rather, the types of fats you consume help determine your cholesterol levels...aim for mostly mono and poly unsaturated fats, mono will reduce bad, increase good, poly increase good, do nothing about the bad...now, the saturated fats from the eggs are much worse than the cholesterol found in them

I eat 6 whole eggs every morning and then probably 3-4 hardboiled throughout the day in salads, etc. So yeah, I'm still alive. Eggs are great protein and have good fats. Just keep in mind that 10 whole eggs is about 700 calories, but it does provide about 6g protein per egg. As long as it fits in your overall calorie/macro needs, they are absolutely fine.

The concern about eggs is their high cholesterol levels. However, the relational between consumption of cholesterol and health is uncertain. While it was initially thought that all dietary cholesterol should be limitied, many studies have now accumulated suggesting that eating an egg or two a day does not negatively affect cardiovascular health. However, I have not seen a study examining intense consumption of eggs (5-10 daily), and I wouldn't recommend eating that much cholesterol until there was more evidence that it didn't lead to negative serum cholesterol levels. It might be harmless (or even mildly beneficial), but it could be pretty bad - we don't know, so it's best to stick to eggs in moderation, IMO.

my meal plan has 10 whole eggs a day, but for the rest of my fats I get from extra virgin olive oil. Still keeps me cutting @ 2200 calories.

You asked how is high cholesterol a disease? It's what causes people to have heart attacks and die. Cholesterol is a thick gunk that basically clogs up your arteries over time. Often people have to hava stint made of wire put in them to open them back up and then they really have to be careful with their eating habits.
Heart attacks are very common in those with high cholesterol.
All I am saying is research this a bit more as that is a lot of eggs. Know all about a food before you go to town with it. Shrimp is also high in cholesterol and lots of people don't know that. Better sooner than later you know?
Did you read the link I posted?
Remember too these posters are 22, 23 years old. Of course they are still alive. The negative effects kick in much later in life. After you've known enough people drop dead from heart attacks through high cholesterol, you tend to take a bit more notice.

I eat 12 whole eggs a day. I had my blood work done twice this year and my cholesterol levels, both of them and combined, are perfect.

Of course. You can be a stuntman jumping out of buildings too and never get hurt. But it doesn't make it a good idea and mean that other people don't get hurt doing it.
From another poster-

Does the body need some cholesterol? Sure. Does it need that much? No. The keto diet is a completely different animal and I'm not going to discuss that since I don't think you're on a keto diet. But, you're not going to convince me that high blood cholesterol is a good thing.

BUT of course, do your own research and make your own decisions. I guess if I loved lots of eggs too, I would also been in the other camp on this. But to me, I don't need them bad enough and there is too much conflicting info on this for me to take a chance. My grandmother and my mother both had high cholesterol.
